  1. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My take on coaches....( Hypothetically speaking, of course. ) How about looking at an OC from a mid major school that's had success? Schools like Bowling Green(where Urban Meyer has some assistants remaining), the OC from Boise St.?
  2. Ding, Ding, Ding!!! We have a winner. What prize would you like, sir, for that answer?
  3. Money is only part of the problem. Look at Bowling Green, they've gone through Josh Harris and now have Omar Jacobs. This team has not lost step. TCU, although they aren't as good as the Printers/Tomlinson years, have seen their success take them into the MWC. South Florida blew out a National Title contender over the weekend. Northern Illinois was in the top 25 two years in a row. Money makes the athletic world go 'round, but what's your response to programs like Baylor & SMU? Bowling Green would smash both these teams in a matchup. I think blaming the issues with this athletic program on money & facilities are merely scratching the surface.
  4. Here's something to think about.... Is DD holding NT down? With all the points you've just made, was it only inevitable that this team have the success it's had so far? If DD wasn't hired, would NT be where it is now? With the boom of the internet, satellite subscriptions, and information technology the recruiting communication and university exposure has allowed many smaller schools to improve talent in their programs. Would another coach have taken this program further?
  5. Yep. And if anyone has watched these two positions they'd see how poor the production has been from these two spots. Not taking anything from the rest of the O, because a case can be made for other players. These two just stand out head-and-shoulders above the rest.
  6. Bob Barker says I'm closest to the actual retail price. I'll pass and take the next showcase, Bob.
  7. This goes back to my point in an earlier post of other teams losing players, filling in with another, and moving on. If your recruiting improves through wins, these players that fill in will not force you to lose too much on the field. This is where coaching shows if these young men have been properly prepared. Coaches must put these guys in a position to succeed..
  8. FFR, I was tracking this game and thinking the same thing. South Florida went to a BCS conference with no stadium and has now defeated a potential national champion program in ~6yrs.
  9. I'm shocked and can't believe some of the complacency shown by die hard MG fans. Dickey has done alot for this school, I'll give him that, but the OOC record speaks for itself. Everyone points to the SBC championship and the 4 NO Bowls. What good has that done so far, really? Think about it, NT is/was getting national recognition but how does it help when the Mean Green get plastered all over the field in key OOC matchups. We're not talking about OU & UT here. We're talking a KSt, Tulsa, Colorado, Baylor, etc. Most schools lose players then fill in and keep on moving. This team has lost players, filled them in, then have taken a HUGE step back. Where is the recruiting result these SBC championships are supposed to bring? I don't expect NT to win these games....YET. But I do expect this team to have teh ability to COMPETE.
  10. Another upset. The Bulls are killing Louisville. Louisville who is supposed to be contending for the National Championship. When will we ever come to this point South Florida has apparentl already reached????
  11. This time, I will not forget the OOC whoopin's NT has received. New Oleans bowl or not.
  12. Seriously, I'm flat out disgusted. I just cannot understand where the problems lie. Have we seriously overrated our talent level? Is the coaching that bad? I'm beginning to think we have let our green colored glasses blind us. The talent level may not be where we'd hope it would be after 4 SBC titles.
  13. Bobby Ross has his undermanned team up 21-14 on #22 team in the country. Yes, I'm envious. .
  14. Army is playing pretty darn good football against a very good Iowa St. team. A good gameplan and great playcalling are keeping them in it.
  15. Mendoza is a decent MLB but he lacks speed from sideline to sideline. I like the move.
  16. Finally, some good news for the week.
  17. That and a QB who can't loft it 40yds down field.
  18. Manhattan, KS is one of the toughest places to play. KSt - 56 NT - 6
  19. LOL!!! Catchy nickname. However, I will refrain from using that until he turns in a performance vs Troy.
  20. He's not even considering NT is he? I'd be happy if NT was even on his radar!
