  1. I agree, Bomar looked awful. It just confirms some of the rumblings I heard from a friend of mine who is an OU alum and former OU player that Bomar was overrated in High School. Chad Henne was a true freshman last year for Michigan and looked light years ahead of Bomar. Why can't we expect our coaches to prepare NT QB's to play like Chad Henne? Especially, guys who've had one year under their belt?
  2. Add me to this. 100% right there with you. If there ever is a must win, this is it. No question about it.
  3. "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick a$$. And I'm all out of bubblegum."
  4. Someday, we'll see the College Gameday scoreboard and it will show NT upsetting a top 15 team. Oh yes, someday.
  5. I always thought the audible issue was a lack of confidence in Scott Hall by the coaching staff. Boy, was I wrong. After watching this mess for 4 weeks it looks more and more like gameplan than anything else. Running into an obvious run blitz makes no sense IMO.
  6. On the slip screen Nwigwe showed his jets. Why can't Flanigan somewhow involve this guy into this offense?? Somehow, they need to back that defense off. Nwigwe definitely has the speed to do it. I still say Meager is the focal point of all the offensive issues.
  7. That is a very misleading stat. That last TD vs Troy was worth diddley squat.
  8. After watching the replay of Tuesday's game 3 things really stuck out to me: 1. The defnse is not that bad. They are on the field too long, wearing down after being on the field 75% of the game. Offense needs to maintain some drives and give them a break. 2. Chad Rose is consistantly getting whooped at the point of attack. I can't count the number of times his guy beats him or he whiffs on a block. 3. The receiving corps after Johnny Quinn is severely lacking. Some of Meagers throws weren't all that bad against man coverage. These receivers are not making plays on the ball like they should when it's one on one.
  9. I meant Eddie George instead of Chris Brown. Got those Titans TB's mixed up.
  10. The Offensive coordinators for successful Mid Major programs. As much as we hate to admit it, we need to find a coach that's looking to push his career into a new path by using a head coaching spot as NT as a stepping stone. It would be a mutually beneficial relationship. He would be able to move onto bigger and better things when NT has been established as a highly competetive program at the D1 level. NT gains recruiting power, increased exposure, and potential increase in revenue while he moves onto a bigger program for more money.
  11. How effective is a fullback? Look at what Lorenzo Neal has done for every team he's played for. Eddie George and Corey Dillon had their most productive years running behind a 5'11" 255lb steamroller. Now he blocks for LT in San Diego. It's no surprise LT is so effective.
  12. Go Horns???? You have just had your Mean Green license revoked for life.
  13. I voted 'NO' way back when Tulsa put the hammer down on NT. How I wish I was so wrong.
  14. Makes you really appreciate what Scott Hall meant to this team. I'll be the first to tell you I had no idea how consistant he was for the offense. I think the QB position is where the issue begins, for this team.
  15. I think it's time to take the Herm Edwards approach to jumpstarting such an abyssmal offense. Back when Vinnie T. was still the QB of the Jet's he was benched after consecutive weeks of poor offensive performance. Yes, there was enough blame to go around for everyone but Herm Edwards said it best: "What am I supposed to do? I can't replace the whole team. So I replace the one position that can make a helluva difference on the field; the Quarterback". Well, that may not be the exact quote but it's close enough. What happened after this, you ask? The NY Jets only found their franchise QB of the future make his mark as one of the premier QB's of the NFL. The offense immediately showed signs of life. Pennington went on to lead the Jets to the NFL playoffs. Meager must sit, IMO. He's not the whole issue, but it's a nice place to start.
  16. UNT students/alums that are fans of Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, or SMU still baffles me. 1. I always root for OU when they play any Texas school other than NT. It helps a very good friend of mine played defensive line at OU during the Switzer era. Now that I think about it, another good friend of mine is a huge Shorthorns fan. 2. I always root for any Texas school that plays against Texas & aTm. 3. I always root for any school that plays against mid-major Texas schools other than NT of course.
  17. I gaurantee you that score is different if Fresno St. played at the Glass Bowl. Toledo doesn't get blown out at home.
  18. I'd like to add a clause to your proposed contract. For every punt NT has in a game. The Offensive Coordinator & Head Coach must take a wooden paddle and spank each other that number of punts. Also, for each time the team posts consecutive punts, both the OV & HC must then add an additional "lick" to the total number of "licks" to be given. If "licks" look to passive, a designated a$$ whooper will be assigned to hand out these "licks". Agreed?
  19. Let's make a prediction, Hurricane VS Ditka? Ditka!!!!!! God VS Ditka? Ditka!!!
  20. I remember reading Price has a clause in his contract where he takes home a percentage of home ticket sales. Now if that doesn't motivate a coach to become an ambassador for your program, what will???
