My only concern is whether we can overcome the damage already done especially with realignment talk resurfacing again. I only hope it's not too little too late. The next hire is critical and so is getting a legit commitment to excellence in Athletics by this BOR and Administration.

I am very grateful for every one who contributes to UNT Athletics because I love UNT. But please understand wealth doesn't automatically equate to wisdom. What an unfortunate waste of 2.3 million dollars because someone not only lacked the wisdom necessary to make the right hire in the first place but then foolishly executed a unilateral, unfavorable contract extension based on emotions and not actual thought, common sense and logic.

Maybe many of us had it all wrong back then. Maybe Dickey wasn't really the major problem he was made out to be. Is it possible that something was going on behind the scenes that made his tenure as head coach unbearable even to the point of affecting his health and performance? If we all remember, Darrell was "constantly" complaining about the facilities. Maybe that was his way of telling RV to get off his back about coaching and do his job and build new facilities including a new stadium so that he could better recruit. Looking back it was Dickey who got Mattress Mac to contribute a million dollars to Athletics while Villerreal couldn't even get the students to vote approval for the Athletic Fee and a new stadium. However RV did manage to run off Mattress Mac and his money and the support of many others as well. Also RV really didn't have much to do with the students finally approving the athletic fee. And what has he really done with that new stadium? Horrible scheduling, some five game seasons and teams that students could care less about. Terrible hires of head coaches that has cost millions in lost revenue and buyouts. Its very clear and obvious RV doesn't have a clue what he has been doing all these years. Many of us, including myself, owe Coach Dickey an apology.

BOOYAH!! And he's openly telling the administration he has no clue as to what he's doing but the administration is so inept themselves they can't even see it.

And never forget that the first words out of RV's mouth after JJ's 200th victory at the Super Pit against Ark St. was, "when WE got here ten years ago." When WE, not when JJ got here ten years ago but when WE got here ten years ago. RV has no shame including himself in someone else's success but isn't it amazing that he blames everyone and everything else for the years of failure during his tenure as Athletic Director. Unbelievable!

RV........................................you sir, are the problem!! You know it, we know it, everyone knows it.

I can't help but believe that the late Dr.Pohl would have fired RV years ago. Dr. Pohl knew, understood and believed that ATHLETICS was/is the window to the University.

It's all so blatantly obvious. UNT leadership is saddled with losers.

It is truly nauseating to watch as a group of individuals either willfully, ignorantly or through incompetence not only destroy a University's athletic program but recklessly waste the last window of opportunity to elevate and secure its place at the upper echelon of college sports. UNT Athletics is the perfect microcosm of what is wrong with our society and our nation. It is the Peter Principle in action. Shame on all of you!! There is no excuse!

After following UNT Athletics for over 45 years I am convinced that there is a well planned, well orchestrated conspiracy to derail UNT Athletics at all cost. Either that or someone has placed a major curse on UNT Athletics. Yes, I know I have said this before but it is literally incomprehensible to accept that this University, its Administration and BOR, would not only sanction incompetence and failure but actually promote it year after year. Maybe RV came in here 15 years ago with great aspirations, high hopes of building a strong well respected major college athletic program. However, either he lacked the knowledge and experience, the business acumen to make it happen or maybe he succumbed to the establishment, the GINO's (green in name only). If he accepted the latter then he betrayed everyone who loves UNT for a safe, secure and well funded paycheck.

Best way to change the culture is by making a legit commitment to success and excellence starting at the top. That has yet to be done, proof being certain incompetent/underqualified individuals still on the payroll.

Want to know what's wrong with America look no further than the Athletic Department and Administration of the University of North Texas where incompetence, failure and mediocrity are not only ignored but promoted.

RV along with some fools and their money are leading us into what was once known as D1AA. Better accept it and get used to it or just walk away. Fifteen years of mismanagement and lack of business acumen has all but destroyed any hope this program had of being included in the upper division of College Athletics. It is what it is. Apogee was designed as a nice D1AA stadium just a step up from many high school stadiums in this day and age. Accept it or move on.

I am very interested in hearing Flys response. After 15 years these numbers should be enough reason for RV's immediate release! AND............not only should RV be shown the door immediately but the University should sue that clown he hired as a football coach for dereliction of duties!

After 15 years? How can anyone justify yesterdays attendance and the current state of UNT's revenue sports unless it is the sole objective to destroy these programs because it is so much easier to accept that idea than to accept the fact that our so called leaders are complete morons who not only exude incompetence but actually reward it. What I witnessed yesterday was sickening.

Starting out average, then sloppy then erratic then brilliant then sloppy then average then collapse then loss.

Anyone notice RV standing in the tunnel during the game tonight pulling a Darrell Dickey by wearing all black. Kind of sad not seeing him sitting in his half court seat eating his bucket of popcorn. My times have changed.
