Former Krum standout now NBA assistant

In 1997, Jason Hamm and his South Alabama Jaguars nearly pulled an upset of Arizona in the NCAA tournament.

That day, Hamm couldn’t quite get by Jason Terry and Mike Bibby. Now, nine years later, Hamm has Bibby on his side but will still be trying to find a way to slow Terry.

After playing for Bill Musselman at South Alabama, Hamm’s connection to the Musselman family has served him well in the past and when Eric Musselman, Bill’s son, was hired as the Sacramento Kings’ new head coach, a phone call to Hamm, a 1993 Krum graduate, soon followed. For the second time during his head coaching career, Musselman placed Hamm on his staff, but this time as an assistant coach.
