  1. Yes. As for seat locations, you'll get seats based on point status. If you are active season ticket holder, donor, etc., the seats are typically going to be pretty good. Biggest reason to go through UNT - direct financial reward to the university for tickets sold. I have that straight from the horse's mouth.
  2. If you are going through the UNT website and using that link, then it would seem that UNT is getting credit. Not the same as just searching HOD and getting tickets straight from the site without going through the school link.
  3. I am fairly certain UNT will make a deal for student prices, so I'm not worried there. As for everyone else, every dollar that goes through the UNT ticket office is important. Buying from 3rd party sites doesn't help the university in any way. That is what I wanted to emphasize.
  4. Buying through UNT is important. We benefit directly from those purchases.
  5. Only one building is literally crumbling that I am aware of. It is not the Biology Building (actually now part of the Life Sciences Complex and the building that I work in). The one that is in bad shape is the Science Research Building. Poor construction when it was built has now led to a situation where the brick walls are detaching from the structure. All indications are that it would likely cost more to repair it than to replace it.
  6. Has anyone had a chance to talk to the Ticket Office about the amount being charged issue?
  7. I think it is highly likely we play in Dallas if we aren't in Memphis. It makes too much sense in too many ways. Bowls want big crowds and the revenue, so they'll pick the team most likely to bring the fans. For HOD, that is us.
  8. The UNT Bowl Game Information page now has an active link to the Ticket Master link for reserving tickets: http://www.meangreensports.com/bowlinfo.html The ticket link is at the beginning of the 3rd paragraph. Just a note: It directly helps UNT to buy your tickets through the school. Please use the UNT links to buy your bowl tickets.
  9. Want to be part of the solution? Today is a great day to make a donation to help your favorite UNT program. It is North Texas Giving Day through the Communities Foundation of Texas. Donations of $25 or more are eligible to receive matching funds if made between 7am and midnight today. Your gift to the UNT Foundation will go to UNT's General Scholarship Fund unless you indicate otherwise. Here is the link: The DonorBridge website
  10. Where do you live/family: Denton with my wife of 17 years (also a UNT grad) and two sons Degree/Year attended/graduated UNT: 1987, BA English; 1994, MS Biology; 1998, PhD Microbiology Favorite NT Memory: Wow - too many to decide from. I guess I'll go with my "famous people" whom I've personally encountered while on campus: George W. and Barbara Bush, 1984; Dr. Ruth Westheimer, 1987ish; H. Ross Perot, 1987 Favorite NT Sports Memory: Listening on the radio when we beat Texas Tech in football in the late 80's, win over SMU (and front row seats to the big halftime fight) in 1990, 7 overtime win over FIU, 2002 N.O. Bowl Victory over Cincinatti, taking the kids to meet Johnny Quinn on the field after football games when he was playing here
  11. This is mentioned in the PDF: "1.2.3 Alternate No. 2 Salvage to Owner, 9 cast stone panels from East Concourse Structure

  13. This blog now says the THECB has approved the new Union. http://untunionmasterplan.wordpress.com/2013/01/24/hecb-approved-the-new-union/
  14. Just plug it into one of the windmills.
  15. Hmmm - I already see the wheels turning in RV's head: 11 players = N-O-R-T-H-space-T-E-X-A-S He could go with a REALLY big font, as long as the coach will set up the right formations.
  16. Glad I'm not the only one who feels "pleaded" sounds wrong. That always bugs me (and know you all know that I spend way too much time worrying about trivial things).
  17. That comment about us made the Weather Channel (yes - I was actually watching it for a short time), but of course the reporter had to stumble over his words and call us "North Texas State" once. I'll blame the wind and rain and forgive him this one time.
  18. The statement I received following my donation shows that I can only write off $400 of the $500 MGC membership, which would equate the benefits as a value of $100. The rest is considered a charitable donation by the IRS.
  19. I have known Mike since graduate school. I didn't see him much in recent years, but when I did it was always at either a football or basketball game. He was a great guy and Mean Green fan. He will be missed.
  20. Where there is smoke, there has to be fire. I cannot believe that the BOR made this move in a specially called meeting if there wasn't a good reason to do so.
  21. Anyone interested might want to look at the State Open Meetings site for an April 25 at 5pm UNT Board of Regent's meeting agenda.
