  1. Radio just said he would be good for even an early bowl game (Dec. 17th).
  2. Harry - well said. Thanks for posting this.
  3. We used to have a single commencement speaker and then separate "walk across the stage" ceremonies. When I graduated in 1987 the speaker was H.Ross Perot. Not sure when we went completely decentralized. 90's or early 2000's?
  4. Spring enrollment is always smaller than fall. Due in part to a large graduation in December along with fewer new students entering in spring compared to fall.
  5. Not that I really care about this thread overall, but just for the sake of accuracy, the master planned Preserve at Pecan Creek development is entirely in the City of Denton. I should know. I live there and pay Denton city taxes.
  6. 1) You can rent robes. No one is required to buy them, so if you want to wait and purchase a different color later you can. 2) Not sure about other institutions, but as faculty I get my robes for free rental at UNT any time I attend graduation.
  7. I always tell people I cheer for two college teams every weekend: North Texas, and whoever is playing SMU that week.
  8. I was responding directly to a request to address the list of authors provided by UNT90. This isn't a list of scientific opinions, it is a list of peer-reviewed papers. If the science was strong against global warming, then where is the scientific data?
  9. Here is someone who has looked at peer-reviewed research on global warming, Dr. James L. Powell (former member of the National Science Board appointed by Pres. Reagan and Pres. G.H.W. Bush) notes on his website that of 13,950 articles on “global warming” or “global climate change” in the peer-reviewed literature from 1991 through Nov. 12, 2012, he found only 24 that explicitly rejected the theory of man-made global warming. He provides details on his methodology, so anyone can repeat the work and review his findings. http://www.jamespowell.org/index.html

  11. It's not like they would ever get to keep it anyway! P.S - Just realized this was my 1000th post!
  12. Maybe we should buy one of these, have it bronzed, and make a trophy. http://www.superhappystore.com/mini-shopping-cart.html
  13. Pulled out my lucky hat. Last bowl game I wore it to was the 2002 win vs. Cincinnati!
  14. Hope he is fine. My son is at the game and texted me a pic while they were waiting for ambulance to come.
  15. I am fairly certain UNT receives a % of every ticket sold over the first $100K, but I don't remember the details (I want to say 50% but don't quote me).
  16. Students should watch for UNT student pricing. I don't have any details, but everything I have heard leads me to believe there will be a deal for students. Give it a few days for the details to be posted.
  17. My understanding is that UNT Ticket Office will assign seats based on Mean Green Priority Points. I have done this with our NCAA basketball tournaments and was always very happy with my seats.
  18. Ordered mine through the Ticket Office website a few hours before the announcement. I was confident we would get HOD
  19. Awesomeness. THANKS HARRY for providing us this forum.
  20. UNT Ticket Office will distribute seats based on Mean Green Club priority points, so more points equal better seats.
  21. Based on comments from Hank, lots more details will be available tomorrow. I would assume that includes hotel, etc. information.
