  1. It might be of interest to see how K's former coaches tend to do on their own.
  2. KU will reload and be top 10 again. Title contenders? maybe not, but we all know Cal's classes are very talented.
  3. I see them as similar styles. Can you elaborate on why you think Marlin would be a bad fit, yet Doc an acceptable one? Maybe I am seeing Doc's style totally wrong?
  4. Personally, I'd love to see the guy stay in the same conference with us. Obviously it is irrelevant if we are moving up in the world without LaLa.

  6. If Tony ate himself, would he double in size or just disappear? /facebook meme'd
  7. Any validity to the idea that offensive struggles last year were due to their youth?
  8. ha, Rudy! Just saw that flick for the first time yesterday.
  9. What is this, an opinion piece? If I'm a local paper/news source, why am I spewing onto the LSU tigers about how little I think they should pay their coaches?
  10. Sadler was an assistant to Gillespie in El Paso when that program helped both their careers take off. IMO, Sadler rode the wave of momentum that BG built, and has never shown me he can be a great great coach. I believe his two years at UTEP involved an NCAA trip (1st year following BG), then an NIT the following. Barbee replaced him and inherited a program some in El Paso think Sadler did not help (trying to put it mildly). I do think what he did at Nebraska is commendable, but he also (does this sound familiar?) never won an NCAA tourney game. Personally, I'm not a big fan of what he looks like on the sideline: seems overly stressed, yells at players. There is something to be said about holding players accountable; I think Aston is a good example of that. But Doc took it to another level. There were mumblings in EP that the players did not like him. IMO, an okay coach but not on the top of my wishlist. Also, his style of play is not compatible with the current roster.
  11. That's the biggest knock on him, together with a barely-above winning career percentage. But he killed it at NMSU, rocked the OOC at Wake and took them into the polls while in the shadow of the ACC heavyweights. This may not be a knockout hire some had hoped for (was there one?), but I find it difficult to be unhappy about a guy we stole from the ACC.
  12. If we can get some bball alumni to join the fun, this thing would skyrocket.
  13. What are the odds that 3 major, D1 universities in the DFW market need new men's bball coaches?
  14. GState is joining the Belt, no? I believe that was Emmit's point; but if they are joining football only, then I see what you're saying.
  15. I know RV is shooting out email blasts to his coaching list. The subject line reads, "Would ya?"
  16. So the Trilli era made us so paranoid to never hire an assistant again? Was Trilli already in our system as an assistant before we put him at HC? I think Shawn is worth giving consideration because he is already familiar with how JJ ran the program, and he spent years in the film room with JJ.
