  1. Would you fire Johnny Jones to hire him?
  2. I don't think there is a single person on this message board that would not want to enjoy the fruits of your suggestion... Obviously, it's not that easy though. With the new stadium, JJ's continuation of building a basketball winner, and hopefully a Football team that can turn the corner, maybe we'll get that upgraded conference invite. Then, we will be able to schedule those better teams at home.
  3. I would love to see Gillmore get a chance somewhere after he was totally fumbled by the defensive coaching staff over the past 2 seasons. Best of luck to the Seniors. Knock 'em dead!
  4. This tournament has been great so far (sans our game)... I love these upsets.
  5. I was/am excited about Holmen as well, but it was hard to get him alot of minutes this year with the way Tramiel and Odufuwa played coupled with alot of games that we fell behind early, and having to dig out (therefore needing Tramiel and Odufuwa on the court as much as possible). I think we'll see more of him next year with Eric gone. I also hope to see more of Alzee at the point to get him ready for his Jr. & Sr. years.
  6. Agree on determining a date... Didn't you guys play at Fouts one year? Will that be available for us this year?
  7. Great School Spirit from Pizza Inn... However, let's not forget who represents these people: THIS DICTATOR All kidding aside, this is great for the university and I hope more Denton businesses jump on board and recognize the great University just a few blocks away.
  8. Yessir. Tramiel will be missed. Let's hope that Alonzo Edwards can step right in and contribute. I'm sure the rest of the Belt is happy to see Tramiel go though... Thanks Eric for all your efforts!
  9. I like the matchup against Purdue better than the matchup with Ohio St.
  10. That might be a little harsh. I too hope Jackson either learns a lesson & changes his ways, or gets exposed & released. However I hope for the success of UNT-D and the Law School just like I do the HSC. These schools should augment the success of the flagship just like the UT & A&M system schools augment the success of their flagships. These schools should not drain the flagship though.
  11. I'll be happy to see Hazzard and Vogler go...
  12. La Tech also hit the DFW area hard for recruits. I wonder if coach Hines was a part of that and has inroads with HS coaches around here. If not, then even East Texas schools would be good to get into.
  13. Did this Santa Clara team have a certain shaggy-haired, Canadian-born point guard?
  14. Oh no. I feel sorry for the poor team that has to face Kansas, 'Cuse or Kentucky in the first round...
  15. Isn't that what we call 'body bag' games are for?
  16. I've missed out on these... I'd love to join you guys this year.
  17. "Improve non-revenue sports facilities"? I guess he keeps up with UNT's facilities about as much as I keep up with SMU's facilities, but we've got some FANTASTIC non-revenue facilities! The Waranch/Soccer/Softball stadiums are all top notch.
  18. I agree with avoiding any big east team... but I wouldn't be excited about a big10 team either. What about the New Mexico team: Are they really that strong? And NT03 pointed out our matchups with Temple, which could be favorable.
  19. Not as excited about this as I was about Peterson, but this still looks to be nice pickup. I like his experience (some OC experience).
  20. Ah. Gotcha. I hope they lose, but if they don't, will the selection committee just look at the help that their RPI gives them, or might they consider us over them even though we have a lower RPI?
  21. I've seen SHSU ahead of us in just about every bracket prediction out there. I don't quite understand that either.
  22. Looking at most bracket projections, Kansas/Syracuse/Kentucky are all pretty much a done deal for 1 seeds. As pointed out by TTG, we will not be a 16 seed, so no need in worrying about facing any of them. The other 1 seed is up for debate and I included teams that are generally considered in the 2-4 seed range as potential opponents: Team (rank)(record) Duke(4)(26-5) Ohio State(5)(24-7) Purdue(6)(26-4) West Virginia(7)(24-6) New Mexico(8)(28-3) Kansas State(9)(24-6) Villanova(10)(24-6) Michigan State(11)(24-7) Wisconsin(13)(23-7) BYU(14)(28-4) Tennessee(15)(23-7) Pittsburgh(16)(24-7) Temple(17)(25-5) Maryland(19)(23-7) Vanderbilt(20)(23-7) Baylor(21)(24-6) Texas A&M(23)(22-8) Out of these teams, which one would you rather see as the #2 or #3 seed that UNT opens with? I think I'd like to see BYU. They have not beat a ranked team all year and have some losses to UNLV and Utah St. I also wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with A&M. Our guys are a little more confident now. The first time we played them, we had JUST lost DJ and were still trying to find out how to replace his minutes...
  23. I think that was Phil Diebel, the interim-interim President.
