The competition is good for all 3 QBs. However, I don't think either will push Riley for the starter job. Coach Canales is high on Riley... Between Thompson & Tune, I have no problems with our backup QB though.

While I don't think they will pose much of a threat to us in the next 10 years, San Antonio is a top 10 city (population-wise) in America and the closest school is Texas State. Couple that with playing in the Alamodome, and UTSA could be considered a nice piece for any conference.

So if Edwards is at the 4, we should expect a Shawn Marion-type of 4? More of a wing type, drive to the basket player, not really a post guy? Tramiel was definitely a good post player and alot of our offense came from him with his back to the basket, whether they were his points, or offensive rebounds that lead to points. It doesn't sound like Alonzo wants to play in that role though. If Alonzo doesn't, then we'll need Hogans to, because I didn't see much post play from Holmen either. Holmen could bulk up and learn post play eventually (I hope he does).

I will never equate a Sun Belt team with a body-bag game... They're 'opportunity games'. We've fallen on hard times, and there were very few of us who picked UNT to beat Troy or MT last season. Hopefully the 3-1 OOC record this fall allows for us to feel confident heading into those games this year.

I hope that Alzee gets more than 5 min. per game next year... But, it's hard to take minutes from the other guys. If DJ comes back strong and plays as well or better than '08-'09, then it would be hard to justify giving some of his minutes to Alzee. However, if he comes back rusty, then he may be reduced from your 30min/gm. in order to give Alzee some time. As awesome as this next year's team is going to be (I'm already looking forward to it), if we mortgage our future starting PG's minutes next season, 2011-2012 will be a dismal year. Rather than moving Josh/DJ to the 6th man role, I think Tristan would be a better sparkplug from a 6th man standpoint. That doesn't mean reduce Tristan's minutes, just bring him off the bench. I'd like to see extended minutes of Josh and DJ on the floor at the same time... so much quickness.
