  1. Agreed. Technically, I'm not sure that's really a flag. This is more like a wall hanging or banner with an image of the flag on it...a North Texas Battle Flag Banner. At least we didn't make the big one on the flag pole like this. Applaud the effort, however, to generate fan support, interest and attendance.
  2. Jeez-o-pete....it's 2017! What's taken so long?
  3. We are clearly a first and second down defensive team. We looked great on those downs. Third down or worse third and long we are horrible. Our defense was on the field so long because we kept letting Iowa extend their drives on third down conversions. I was watching the game with a couple friends (one an Iowa alum). Both were impressed with the Mean Green, but noticed that our defensive line consistently lines up way off the line of scrimmage. They kept saying that we were giving up 1-2 yards before the ball was even snapped. They also commented on the cushion our DBs were giving their receivers. Is our defense (DL and DB) being coached that way?
  4. This is just me, but if you want it to be visible from maximum distance, you put it at the highest point, which would probably be somewhere on the hill. A hundred and twenty (or a hundred) feed on top of that and you see it from a long way away. But that's just me. I'm sure it will look great where it is and I'm excited to see it. Disappointed it wasn't ready for the first game of the season, but I understand the reasons. I guess I'll have to wait until next season to see it.
  5. The soccer/track complex was fully funded in February of 2017. For some reason, yet to be fully explained IMHO, the project was delayed until now to "allow UNT to build the best venue possible." Vito went as far as saying that the delay was a good thing, which I have not quite figured out yet.
  6. This is exciting news and it's nice to see it get going. When this was approved by the BOR and funded back in February and then delayed in May, we were told the delay was to "allow UNT to build the best venue possible." Does anyone know what changed since May? Was the design of the facility changed (improve/enhanced), more seating, etc.? Did we negotiate a better deal on the construction (saving $ or getting more bang for the buck)? Just curious what goes on the make this a better venue (or deal) now than it was back in May.
  7. Why can't we just say, "Congrats Mason! Way to go. Proud of you representing UNT."
  8. After watching those highlights, I have no idea how we lost that game ;-).
  9. There have been bad calls since the beginning of time. Instant replay was supposed to fix it. When instant replay is used to make a bad call, well that's just a kick in the nether regions. UNT has been kicked there a lot.
  10. I like to try and keep it in the family....
  11. In 1999 we won 2 games (beating Texas Tech and Boise St - go figure) and then won our conference championship (co-champs) in 2001. We won 3 games in 2000.
  12. I wasn't at either game, but watched both and felt the same way. A bit surprised really as I thought both teams had built on their respective fan bases.
  13. Oops. Forgot about everyone in the will call line. Thanks for the correction. ;-)
  14. SMU ticket counter: "Looks like 50,000 +/- to me."
  15. First things first.....there's a flag pole to be erected. Let's stay focused, OK?
  16. How about that seven overtime game when we only scored 25 points or that time we scored 62 points only to lose by 12?
  17. Pfffft...it's not all that hard. 52-14 and that's all I have to say about that.
  18. Phew, for a moment there I thought you were going to say it's hard at North Texas.
  19. I thought this sort of thing only happened to North Texas.
  20. There is an edit button. I've found it very useful.
  21. Is this a new Silent Eagle? You may need to change your handle. I'm thinking Not So Silent Eagle.
