  1. New Orleans and Houston can't catch a break. I work in an industry related to flood and it's been a rough year to say the least.
  2. I'd have Bussey higher but otherwise, good to see our guys getting so much love
  3. No worries, Christian will do his winning at North Texas
  4. Anyone live in a fraternity house? I was in a fraternity at the time but never lived in the house
  5. West Hall to start then finished out my time in Uptown Apartments.
  6. They are bad, but last year was a mixed bag. Lost their quarterback to a rib injury and their back-ups were atrocious and lost them winnable games. Their defense actually kept their horrible offense in games which is saying a lot if you know the history of Tech football as an air raid team that never has a defense. That being said, no way I would put SMUT over them.
  7. And I did say I drove through and have not spent an extended period of time in Arkansas. As I mentioned, I can only speak for Kansas which is also Hog Wild and know quite a few people that attended there.
  8. Come to Kansas. If they aren't KU, K-State, or Mizzou, they are Arkansas. I've never seen so many cars decked out in Arkansas stuff in my life, and that includes a full drive through Arkansas and Fayatteville.
  9. Feeling is mutual. Thanks for the enjoyable conversation, friend
  10. Once again missed the point. Original question, "Why are they recruiting so well?" I answered that emphatically with evidence. I'm over this conversation
  11. To reiterate, I'm going based on offers rather than stars. Their "lower rated" recruits chose them over schools like Army, Navy, Air Force, and Arizona State. Go up the list and they are beating out the P5 schools that I noted above and more. Stars are garbage rankings for quality because that system has become so watered down. The fact is, they are winning head to head recruiting battles with schools in their own conference, as well as other P5 conferences, which never used to happen. Back to the original point of why we are even on this conversation to begin with, why are they getting so many recruits? As we've both said, high energy, renewed enthusiasm, and intangibles that I listed above which all factor in to this point. So downvote me all you want, my original point stands, big things are happening in Lawrence.
  12. Well, for starters, they've gone from being ranked bottom or close to bottom of the Big 12 in recruiting in multiple years to currently being second in the Big 12. They are also winning head to head recruiting battles against P5 schools like Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Navy, West Virginia, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Purdue which is way more telling than any recruiting rating and is a much better indicator of quality than stars. And if you don't care about them, don't come at me about whether they have actually improved in recruiting or not because I follow it very closely.
  13. It's not even the first year into a new regime and head coaching change. They aren't going to be getting 5 star recruits overnight but the noted improvement from previous years to this year has already been staggering so I doubt that they care if UT or OU are impressed so early into the new process.
  14. No worries. Mean Green faithful showing up on Twitter making sure the clown that posted that knows exactly where he's committed to play his college ball
  15. You would hope he understands that since he keeps re-tweeting about "leaving a legacy at UNT." Hard to do that at an already established P5 school. We'll see
  16. Agreed. Looking forward to the depth. There shouldn't be a significant drop in talent from the starters to the bench which is what we'll need to make a push.
  17. Really not trying to get into a pissing contest since I love North Texas so much but there is a renewed excitement about Kansas football since the school has finally decided to invest in them. Why wouldn't you want to play for Les Miles? Also, the proximity to Kansas City helps to have more things to do and the atmosphere here during March Madness is unlike any other place I've lived (and I've been around). Just helping y'all understand why they are raking in recruits.
  18. I remember going to games when Mike Price was the coach and they were ranked 24 in the country. Sun Bowl was packed. I also go to the Sun Bowl game every year and that is as close to sell out as you can get for a Bowl Game considering the games around the same days and times. I know that not that there is a new AD and focus on athletics in place, my father has started donating more to them. He used to take pride in them "being all about academics to sacrifice athletics," but I think that kind of stinkage gets old after a while. If they turn things around, El Pasoans will start showing up again. I will give them that, they do care a whole hell of a lot about UTEP, even if they didn't go there.
