  1. Wren will need to raise season tix prices next year to fund a HC buy-out he'll never do.
  2. Can we put some of the half time hula hoop girls in as OL defenders? I'm pretty sure all my fingers and toes can count the Rice Band members... Might have a few fingers left over.
  3. At least we get to get a quick dinner in at Postino in Houston tonight before flying back. Thanks Seth!
  4. People roll eyes react to my 4 win season post like UAB won't steam roll us after we lose to a 1 win Rice. There's more green here than blue... and we lose. We look awful.
  5. Met Tom Stewart's mother on the flight to Houston, seems like a nice lady. She pointed out that Rice hasn't won a game this year till her son started. Stewart had a 78% completion percentage against MTSU last week. Not much tape on him unless you go back to his Harvard days. Spread has gone to -6.5 from -4 Glorious Green Eagles: 31, Wealthy Studious Night Birds: 27
  6. How's the parking there? $10-$20 close to stadium or do I have to walk at least a mile passing 5 empty parking garages like a Charlotte? I'm buying tickets for two at the stadium. I usually am an advocate for using the ticket office, but after the bye-week I forgot. 😬
  7. There isn't a "culture" of football at a lot of C-USA schools that are ultimately "Commuter Schools"... Even UNT has suffered from Commuter School stigma although it appears it's is slowly overcoming that generalization.
  8. That has gone poorly for us in recent memory...
  9. http://dallas.culturemap.com/news/city-life/11-12-19-unt-apogee-worst-college-football-stadiums-moneywise/ I see the SMU loving media is still looking for ways to 💩 on North Texas. Not sure I agree with any of this other than the attendance numbers. Parking has been better than most of the C-USA stadiums I've visited this year and many other P5 stadiums I've been to. Discuss...
  10. Big Easy = New Orleans. New Orleans = Southeast Louisiana Gulf Coast Ruston = North/NW Louisiana Piney Woods Ruston to New Orleans = Almost 5hr drive Ruston ≠ Big Easy NT Daily Journalism = Needs improvement
  11. We're being generous if we think anyone would watch us play in the Act III Popcorn Bowl live in Declining 3rd Rate City, USA aired on ESPN 8 The Ocho on a Thursday afternoon at 3pm in early Dec. But overall I agree... Time to stop wasting money on the 2019 season.
  12. Is there some sort of "Common Core" US Geography that now college age kids were subject to? Ruston is a solid 5hr drive from "The Big Easy".
  13. Took @jtm0097's advice on this. Arrived about 1pm to every table taken and a line of almost 10 in front of us. They still had Brisket, Ribs, and Hot Links... Were already out of turkey and jalapeno sausage. I ordered a three meat plate with all the remaining meats. Was an awesome BBQ joint. They ran out of all proteins before 2pm and put up "We're all out sign" an hour before the 3p close. Lady and I walked around the downtown and looked at all the "Antiques" (junk) shops. I was really pleasantly surprised about Jefferson. Much bigger small town than expected. Really interesting history too. Would be a great slow place to disappear from DFW to for a off-season weekend. Ignore the bite of rib I already took prior to the pic 😁:
  14. Also found this confusing. I parked at the Optometrist office immediately north of the stadium property on the main road for $15. It appears there was no cash parking on University property according to their GameDay parking site. Not quite as confusing and as far of a walk as Charlotte's... but again, we do it better at Apogee. Even this morning I had no data with full service signal in Ruston. Tried to find some breakfast/brunch but there appeared to be almost zero options. Grabbed some Daylight Donuts (Boudin Kolaches!) and headed out. Had the Veal Aristocrat for dinner at Roma's. That is the best pasta dish I've ever had... and that table bread! 😋
  15. Thankfully this is a rare two bye week season! 10 wins incoming??!?
  16. Drove it, No, and No. I'm sure Im being a bit dense, but I'm not sure what the point is you're trying to make. Their Athletics facilities are not as good at North Texas'.
  17. I was there today and didn't find it sparsely attended by LA Tech fans What was the "official" attendance? Their facilities suck... Their tailgating was good and well attended. We stumbled into the most green tailgating tent I saw and were given free beer by the green and red/blue folks there. Can't complain.
  18. With LSU vs Bama at the exact same time, I was shocked how many WERE in the stands.
  19. I already called the ticket office, they said there was no return policy for suckers like me who bought the hype this season. I had full signal bars but no data during the game (thanks small town + big event) have a lot to say, but most of its been said already. There's a total lack of leadership at this point from the coaches and probably the Athletic Dept. Seth might be high on a list of potential Juco or FCS coaches, but I can't imagine any other FBS team is lining up at this point. He's shit our bed, and now we're stuck with him unless G Brint wants to buy out the contract. Going to Roma's in downtown Ruston for dinner. We'll be the sad looking people in Green. I'll be at Rice because I need two more round trips for A List on SWA. Not expecting a win at this point though.
  20. Thank you for your sympathies... The Courtyard is very nice though. The Ritz of Ruston you might say.
