  1. GMG. The defense looks like hot garbage, per usual.
  2. I wasn't able to make the trip, but I have a handful of friends (who went to A&M) that are in NOLA for a work conference. They all have commented on all the North Texas fans, and related activity going on. It's really good to hear that the extended Mean Green family is showing out.
  3. I'm of the opinion that you can find a dataset to back up any position, football or otherwise. http://www.compughterratings.com/FBS/rankings North Texas Points per Game 35.9 Points Against 33.8 Opponent Record 78-77 Average Opponent Rank 144.5 Troy Points per Game 29.9 Points Against 17.5 Opponent Record 64-78 Average Opponent Rank 190.8
  4. I could almost guarantee that would happen. I don’t mean to discredit the win. However if you play that game 10 times, LSU wins 9. That’s just a reality of FBS football.
  5. Not going to split hairs, I pretty much agree with you. Macro statistics have been very unkind to UNT this year. I think we’re still ranked below teams we beat in a couple of the FBS ranking algorithms. Bottom line is that UNT and Troy are pretty evenly matched and it’ll be a good game.
  6. My argument is that LSU is an outlier in Troy's SOS calculation. SOS(garbage team + garbage team + top 25 team) > SOS(okay team + mediocre team + mediocre team). Y'all caught them sleeping. It was a tall task, and y'all played your hearts out. You also lost the following week.
  7. I'm willing to bet that the reason the SOS is so high is because of LSU being on the schedule.
  8. Oh come on. Nobody is sleeping on Troy. They have a similar SOS, and obviously beating LSU was a huge win. They're a very good team, and with our shoddy defense, we might very well lose. Hot take: the Sun Belt is the worst conference in FBS, hands down. CUSA might be terrible, but its definitely better than the Fun Belt. There's much more parity, and the games as a whole are way more competitive. Inflated stats from beating up on glorified FCS teams like Idaho, Texas State, Coastal, Georgia Southern, etc. doesn't really impress me. Sorry. Troy, App St. and A-State are the only good teams in that conference. Lets trade Rice, UTEP, Charlotte, and ODU for them.
  9. You want to put your GPA down too? Nobody cares about your unsolicited and cherry picked analysis dude.
  10. They'd be dumb to not consider him, and SL would be dumb to take the job. I don't think its an exaggeration to say SMU is a lateral move, even if AAC is better than CUSA.
  11. As a recent graduate, I'm split. I don't like burdening students with extra fees that amplify the amount they will be paying back over the next 10-15 years (as I will be). At the same time, this is what it takes to have a competitive athletics department. If this money is put to good use and we see results, then good. If we return to Old Denton, give the money back and save everyone some time.
  12. If the vote passes, I just hope that the money is put to good use.
  13. 39. Independence Bowl -- Southern Mississippi vs. Florida State -- Dec. 27, 1:30 p.m.: I have a suspicion Florida State was far more interested keeping its bowl streak alive than it will be to actually play in the bowl game itself. Goes to show that the national perception of playing FSU this year is not great...
  14. Every 2017-18 college football bowl game, ranked by watchability, SB Nation New Orleans Bowl: North Texas vs. Troy, Dec. 16 Watchability score: 2.9 Solidly middle of the pack..
  15. Excited for the team, and the game. The matchup is okay... Given what the rest of the CUSA matchups are looking like, we could do a lot worse. Especially considering the pounding we took yesterday. FAU to the Boca Bowl? Laughable. At least their 37 fans won't have to travel far.
  16. I actually know that girl... So random to see that hahaa
  17. At this point they’re just putting it on to attract top-25 votes. Don’t blame them at all. You play to score and if the other team can’t stop you, so be it
  18. This is what I don’t understand. Worrying about perception is pointless if you’re getting throat punched in the conference championship game on national tv. Become a team that does the punching, then you can worry about what people think. We have it all backwards.
  19. When you play like how we’re playing right now you don’t get to choose. Winning and not getting slapped on ESPN2 does more than playing a middling P5 vs playing Troy.
  20. This could have been played in a Safeway parking lot and the result would have been the same.
  21. I get that. FAU is a good team that has realized their potential. UNT has talent and scrap, but I wouldn’t call them good. Chalk it up to coaching (you can tell Kiffin has coached big time football), age, or depth. End result is the same.
