A couple years ago the university blocked one prominent club team from selling merch as a fundraiser because of copyright issues. It really soured me on the Rec and Athletics department. Also, club teams aren't allowed to call themselves "North Texas" anything. Very petty on behalf of the university.

Here's the 2018 guys lacrosse schedule. I'm an alum but still do a lot of the graphics work for the team. While not an official varsity sport, the team is very organized and plays in the MCLA which considers itself to be a high-level intercollegiate league. Only schools without full varsity programs can play in the MCLA, so there is a lot of good competition. Hope y'all can catch a couple games this year!

That's game. For everyone complaining about the matchup, the bowl choice, etc., are missing the point. The point is that the team isn't very good. We're not better than Troy. Nor are we better than the New Orleans Bowl. Better luck next year, I guess...

Having an empty stadium is going to do wonders the next time a bowl without a CUSA tie-in, with a better matchup is looking for alternatives.
