  1. They are in black tonight. Someone's going to be upset. I wonder who that is?
  2. If we can knock off KY this weekend, they should be ranked in all the polls.
  3. I would also add to have pep rallies. I know this is not high school, but these kids are not far removed from high school and we all remember how pep rallies in high school motivated us. They should have pep rallies right in the area between the Willis Library and Student Union. I get it that players may not be able to attend because they are getting ready for the game, but bring athletes who are not in season and coaches who are not in season to hype it up. They should happen every Friday starting around Noon or later and lasting 2-3 hours or longer to allow students who may be in class a chance to get out and attend.
  4. One way to get students in that has been said before is make it easier for them to get in. What I mean, is students are required to download their tickets to their smart phone. Why do that? When I attended in the late 80s to early 90s, all we had to do was show our ID card and we were in. Students should have the option to do both. They are already paying for it, so why make it harder for them by only giving them one option? If I show up at the game and realize I don't have my ID card, then I just log into my UNT account and download it. The other thing is fix the WiFi inside the stadium. It sucks and we know these kids today are not going anywhere without their phones. At least make it easier for them to access it while inside.
  5. This scares me. Jelly Walker came back and UAB is a whole different team like we are when Perry came back full strength. We better not overlook them come tourney time.
  6. I agree, big ask. I think we will be okay if we can be competitive. Just don't get blown out and fans will see that we are much improved and I think they will support that. A win on the other hand would be icing on the cake. I would just hope that if that happens, Morris can keep the guys from reading their own press clippings and keep them grounded.
  7. He has 5 years as a RB coach in HS at a power house (Denton Ryan) and 4 years of coaching at UNT and our running backs have been a strength of our team the whole time. To me, that's proven vs people such as Gary who has 1 year as a HS Assistant at North Crowley (not a powerhouse like Denton Ryan) and 2 years as a grad assistant or Kratch who has 5 years as a grad assistant and 5 years as assistant of player personnel. Maybe that was an agreement that he made with Morris so that Morris would keep him instead of firing him like most new HC do.
  8. We are definitely getting a great ROI with this one. I think in a year or two we are going to have to give him a significant raise if we want to hold on to him.
  9. I agree with this. I get he got a tremendous raise with his new salary, but he is a proven coach at this level yet we are paying unproven coaches 25k more than him. I would have dropped one of these brand new guys who are unproven down to 175k and pushed PC to 200k.
  10. Why was I thinking MLB was for Major League Baseball instead of Middle Linebacker when I saw the title to this post?
  11. Maybe they had Gaddie commit because they were waiting on other CBs to commit. Once they got them, maybe they said your scholly is no longer good. I saw two CBs listed on the transfer article and nothing about Gaddie. They snubbed him. He should come back home, but I am guessing his pride won't let him. He should remember that pride comes before the fall.
  12. I have a theory with the recruiting success that we have seen today. Maybe it's a question. Do you think Wren had already informed Smatresk and Mosley that he was taking the WVU job a while back? I am thinking he did and that the plan was to make it look like a surprise. I bet Smatresk already knew Mosley was going to be the guy, but to make it look like it was open to all by state rules, he ran through the process quickly because he knew all along it would be Mosley. I think Mosley knew as well and had already contacted Morris to let him know that if he wants the job it is his. I am sure he ran through the process as well to make it look like it was open to satisfy some rule. I bet Morris has been contacting a lot of these guys on his staff for a while to sell them on coming to UNT when he gets the job. To me that would explain how he was able to assemble this staff with such great recruiting pedigree in a short time. Maybe I am crazy, but that's what I think. It happens all the time in government hiring. You have a position available and you know who you want to hire, but based on government rules, you have to open it the position up to all. You tell the person you want to hire to make sure they apply. That way you can give the job to them because you can say they were the best qualified or interviewed the best when you knew all along they were the person you were going to hire. What do you all think?
  13. The women get the win against UTEP. I guess Jazion Jackson should have stayed home. Haha. Okay. I am a little salty that she would transfer to UTEP. That's not an upgrade. I know it's her choice, but I still like to rub it in.
  14. You are right. They were going to have to win the tourney anyway, but this is still a bad look.
  15. This is where we determine if we have a championship caliber team this year.
  16. That's why we as the consumer have a thing to say about the product. It happens in all sports from the professional level and below. North Texas is not exempt. They do it at Alabama and Georgia as well and they still win and get kids to come there. I am not worried about what the fans say because kids have to know when they play a public sport where fans are involved, there will be complaints. If he can't deal with fans at North Texas, how would he deal with an even bigger fan base in the NFL, which I am sure is his goal.
  17. This is not the same because we are not part of the company. The players and coaches are part of the company. We are customers of the company. If the players and coaches are bad mouthing him, then I see your point. However, if the customers are upset that one of the best employees leaves, then we have the right to be a little salty because we are the ones paying for the product that the company produces. Especially if we have money invested in that company.
  18. No we shouldn't apologize nor should they if they sign one of our kids, but at the same time, I don't expect them to wish them well either. I can see them being pissed about it and rightfully so after they spent time developing him.
  19. Well, I hate to see us lose, but I feel like FAU will be the same as we were last year. They will do well in Conference, but when it comes to the tournament, we will get it done. CUSA is unfortunately a one bid conference. What really matters is who wins the tournament.
  20. Well, at least the women beat FAU today. They got good revenge on them.
