  1. Littrell is quoted in the Denton Record-Chronicle as saying: "They are the best team in this league," UNT coach Seth Littrell said of FAU. "We have a measuring stick of where we need to get to in the future. Hopefully we can get the opportunity and be much better next year." Littrell was quick to emphasize that the Mean Green (9-4) have a lot to be proud of and a lot to play for once they find out where they are headed in the bowl season. UNT is expected to receive a bowl bid Sunday. I agree with him 100% on both counts. We have a way to go before we get to the level we all would like, but nevertheless, the team and fans have a lot to be proud of (personally I think the team needs to recognized as being some of the best over-achievers in football this season) and a bowl game to redeem themselves.
  2. Despite my disappointment with today's result. I would have easily taken this year's record pre-season had I been given a choice. As for me, I will not let today's game ruin what has been a good season. One way of looking at today is that Littrell got a whole lot from a team with relatively modest talent. I wonder what he would have done if we had the speed and bulk of FAU? Otherwise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2ezJmPdsTA
  3. Well let me see. When we were in the Sun Belt, we played Colorado State, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Southern Miss. They didn't seem to think it was beneath them to play there.
  4. The CUSA does not have a tie-in to the HOD. Take that up with the conference office if you disagree.
  5. Always had a good turnout and anyone who went once was more than certain to go again.
  6. Sorry you feel that way. I am happy to go for a fine experience with Mean Green fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-pMEzfgmG4
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-pMEzfgmG4 Well, New Orleans can be fun for both the team and the fans
  8. New Mexico, the Independence Bowl or HOD would be fine with me. And I would attend the NO Bowl as well.
  9. I would be happy about any bowl except a repeat of the Army game. Personally, I attended all 4 New Orleans Bowl games and have fond memories of the experience. I would be glad to go back there as well as most of the other bowls mentioned as possibilities except the Boca Raton Bowl.
  10. Thanks for the photos. Good to see Rick and Silver Eagle....by the way, I really like Silver's North Texas flag shirt.
  11. There is a very good chance we will.
  12. I was glad to see this is a young team with a fairly good upside.
  13. Pre-season, how many of you would have taken a 8-3 record at this point if it were credibly promised to you? I know I would have for sure.
  14. Absolutely. Got them this morning through UNT ticket office. Guarantees being seated with other Green bloods and gives documentation on how many we bring to out of town games (an important stat for the AD in the scheduling wars).
  15. Why? Army would crush UTSA....and that wouldn't do much for their recruiting.
  16. What slug fest. Thank goodness for Trevor Moore, Mason Fine and the rest of the team.
  17. I can't make the game, but will be watching it on Bein here in Galveston. I plan to make the Rice game in Houston this next weekend and any bowl game we end up in.
  18. Phil Steele is usually the best pre-season prognosticator and is right more often than wrong, but he was really off on this year's CUSA. East Predictions; 1.Western Kentucky; 2. Marshall; 3. MTSU; 4. ODU; 5.FAU; 6. FIU; and 7. Charlotte. West Predictions: 1. LTU; 2. UTSA; 3. USM; 4. Rice; 5. North Texas; 6. UTEP and 7. UAB. I guess that we are a difficult conference to predict.
  19. Not necessarily pretty, but grand nevertheless
  20. Especially since Fine and the receivers seem to be out of synch.
