I think you also have to mention Coach Reffett. The announcers were saying that he took on play calling duties since he has experience with the triple option and the defense looked amazing! He doesn't get the attention Ekeler gets since Ek is always going crazy on the sidelines but Reffett has been another huge addition to the staff. The secondary and the defense as a whole looks night and day better than last year and he has been a big reason for that!

Since it's the bye week and a little slow on news, I wanted to remind people of adding this impact player next year. Defense looks insanely better this year compared to last, so just imagine adding Bryce, who had 10 P5 offers. He will have basically had 2 redshirt years to grow and develop. Not to mention potentially having him step in as a starter for 4 years! Excited to watch this team the rest of the year! GMG!

I added Devron Davis because I thought he had already committed. So if he does we will move up to 90th and 3rd in conference.

With all the new additions since signing day, UNT would now be ranked 3rd in the conference and 90th in nation. Keep in mind that doesn't include Morris who might be the biggest piece for next year, English who is probably the biggest impact player added, and O'Hara as he doesn't have a 247 page.

Good thing is he has a coach who went to North Texas and made it onto an NFL team (Brandon Jackson) so hopefully he helps sell the kid on going here. Still likely a long shot but you never know! Definitely feel like this isn't going to be the same ol' UNT with Littrell at the helm.

I also saw that DeAndre Cook and Aubrey White did not commit so hopefully we can get at least one in here. I did notice that White has followed like all of the UNT offensive coaches. Also Juice Parker (DB) from Oak Cliff did not commit it looks like.

Also that grade is with Ozougwu counting for like .7 points because he doesn't have a composite grade. But 247 has him ranked as an 80 and just a handful of spots away from Hamilton in overall rankings so if you gave him the score that Hamilton got, it would put us at 119+ so we would be above WKU for 7th in C-USA. Also keep in mind that these rankings don't include Morris and our biggest recruit in English. Basically it is like we started out with no car, $1000 (1 recruit) and no savings. Because of Litrell and company we now have $19000 (19 recruits) to get a nice car so that we can get to work and a little savings left over. Now that we are back working we can start making more (recruits). We also just got to invest and develop until that savings turns into a couple C-USA players down the road!

Really like this pickup! Seems like a guy that didn't really get recruited because he only played the position for a year but to be able to get playing time as a first year DB with 2 three-star DBs on the roster signals some talent to me. Looked pretty talented in his WR film too so could be used in multiple ways. Look forward to seeing this guy develop and worst case keeps the Desoto pipeline open.

I did see that Keenen Johnson has started following Harrell, Mainord, Byrd, and what looks like a UNT student in the last day or so. I doubt that he would flip again but you never know. Something to keep an eye on. I also think that we will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow. I have a feeling there will be a couple of names we didn't expect since the staff was thinking about blueshirting Moore initially so they have to have something up their sleeve. I know I am hyped up on the kool-aid as well but am excited about the new staff and to see some watchable football this next season! GMG!

This is what I was thinking about as well. I was wondering if maybe teams stayed away from offering because he is so old and they thought he didn't have room to grow as much as most recruits. I mean I'm in the spring semester of my sophomore year and we are the same age, so did he get held back a year or 2? Kinda a red flag especially since he'll be even older next year. Wouldn't think too many teams want a 20 year old freshman that is only like a 3 star at most.

It looks like he started following Coach Harrell today. I've seen him liking and retweeting stuff about him coming here and know he is friends with Shanbour so hopefully they seal the deal soon. Would be great to have a competition of Augie and Mason in 2 years!

Harrell met with Mason Fine when he was up in Oklahoma visiting Nyc didn't he? Is it also possible that he liked Mason better for what they needed? Could also explain why he didn't go back to throw. Just throwing out ideas, but regardless Nyc looks very talented and I wish him the best!

So is there another reason besides size that schools aren't recruiting him? From his hudl tape it looks like he has a great deep ball and is mobile. Also it looks like he has at least average arm strength and good accuracy. He is the 2 time Gatorade player of the year for Oklahoma. Has he been arrested like 18 times or something because I don't see another reason why schools aren't lined up. Do they really think a 17-18 year old won't grow or add on any size? If they redshirted him behind Morris for a year to let him grow I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a 4 year starter, especially in Harrell & Littrell's offense. He retweeted Khairi's commitment tweet. Also all of his recent followers are UNT related. I think unless anyone comes last minute and sways his mind that he'll head here. Would be a great get!

FWIW I saw that Debiase favorited a tweet like a week ago saying hopefully UNT gets Debiase. I think UNT is his only real option and would be a great fit.

Also he isn't calling the plays. Dirk Koetter already said he is calling the plays so he will just be helping develop players. Which at SM he showed he can get a lot out of the talent he has and the Bucs have a lot of talent of offense in Jameis, Martin, Evans, Sims, Seferian-Jenkins, Jackson, Bell, Humphries, Dye, Brate, and others. (The Bucs are my favorite team so that's the only reason I know so many of their players lol). Does anyone know if SM has any commits from Texas?

According to his scout profile it seems that he only played DB for 1 season. I'm not a DB coach or anything but looked like he had some talent there. Seems like a guy that could really benefit from a redshirt to get another year of experience at the position and could be at least a good nickel corner in the future.

I've seen the offensive assistant coaches have been following him this week. He is now following Morris and English as well so I wouldn't be surprised if he is visiting this weekend. Lots of offers but we should be able to beat out everyone on that list.

His rivals page isn't reporting the Va Tech offer anymore. If it is true then you have to like our chances considering Littrell would be the one to offer him both of his offers. Still think this is the most likely of the 3 star QBs for us.
