  1. There's no way Rice gets in. Their home attendance is awful.
  2. I smell a scam here... too much punctuation "". Ben lives to start \talk crap wether he is right or not. He will have his presence felt one way or another.
  3. If we are shooting for top shelf, I say go independent with a CBS network deal and schedule whoever you want.
  4. Accountability is generally seen as such, yes.
  5. Thanks for the response. I'm going to mull that over and watch for this as a concideration in future expansion /restructuring activities.
  6. That's interesting. Do conferences consider rivalries ( or creating potential rivalries ) in the expansion equation ? I know t.v. market, recruiting, etc. is, but this is something I've never heard or recognized.
  7. I'm sure if you read my post you would see my angle. I'm not defending, attacking, promoting, degrading, supporting or dismissing anyone nor dI'd i assert you did. I even said in the post I didn't care about the verbal either way, other than to say those things show movement in that program and I am beginning to worry about UNT. Both schools are in the same conference, division, state , have head coaches hired in February and are building up their respective programs. Those are facts. Comparisons of the two in my mind help guage "progress" in the programs endeavors. If making valid observations about the team on the team forum triggers keyboard nazis and an ensuing Truthers Cleansing, I have so much more compassion for 90. It appears close to impossible to have objective rational posting exchanges with you.
  8. Whether it does or not isn't my concern. UTSA has 4 star transfers and now a 4 star verbal, where is the Mean Green activity? I read about the Jimmy and Joes on here and starting to go from concerned to nervous.
  9. A mere technically of debatable importance...kind of.
  10. I agree. If we are fairly certain the B12 will break up, plan for that. If t.v. money isn't the cash cow in the future, identify what will be and position for that. Its a business discipline to manage both sides of the ledger, the answer may include expense reduction as well in the plan. It may look random now, but it's better to position yourself to have the future come to you instead of chasing and never catching.
  11. My bad, you are correct, 90 does state that. Sorry, I did miss that.
  12. I Googled the school and saw when it was founded, etc. It didn't make the distinction between fbc/fbs. Had I realized that was a consideration, I would have looked farther into it. I assumed UNT was not fbs the whole time and didn't see a disparity of comparison. Honestly, I never actually researched it other than the Google for specifics- I heard a radio ad for the school and was struck by their playoff success and early founding and it stuck in my head. One of my distinct disadvantages is never graduating from UNT or UTSA, so my background knowledge of either and both is almost zero. That is why I come on here, to learn. I get my share of grief because people assume I graduated from UTSA, but in reality and as mentioned earlier, I graduated from neither and I am trying to learn about both to support both for different reasons. I go on these boards to learn, but, unfortunately, both schools' boards recognize I'm not a graduate by my lack of shared culture.
  13. I didn't compare at all, in fact you did the comparison with the facilities and longevity post- I was responding to your post pointing out the criteria/logic you used was dubious at best and obviously flawed by the Texas State example (no reply, eh chief?). I offered no comparison or evaluation of either school. Why the vitriol with the post? The last post you posted also isn't factually correct. Regardless of extenuating circumstances, on the field head to head is a universally recognized measure of success, since your calling me out and making it personal. Now that is a comparison as I proposed an examination of both programs against each other to produce a judgment of value. You don't have to agree with me, but you also don't have to be condesending either. I'm not an idiot and I'm not a grade school child your going to intimidate. Regarding basketball, I don't fully understand the 'kinda' comment on the UNT facilities. I'm trying to get up to speed with the football and the only thing I can gleen is the fan base is unhappy about the basketball coach.
  14. If longevity, post season wins and campus stadium are the criteria for football, Texas State would be the champion of the three schools SWT, UNT, UTSA. There needs to be better criteria.
  15. From what I've read, my inference is UTSA is focused on building the program and looking for the next reallignment. It makes sense in my mind, if UT is going to bolt after LH network ends, that shake up is what you would want to prepare for. UNT/UTSA currently has favorable travel expenses in CUSA and there is a very real risk that a move now may not look as good after the next huge reallignment redefines the landscape. And let's be honest, both programs still have some work a head to be ready for such a move.
  16. I don't know, at first glance that's a hard sell. I don't think the issue is schedule, but 4* versus 2* being ready to contribute on the next level on day 1.
  17. Per Rivals UTSA recruiting guy, he will announce his verbal commitment today. He has a number of offers, so this will be interesting to see his decision.
  18. Man, if SMU became B12, DFW would be a tough recruiting road.
  19. Just a thought. How would you like to be Rice in CUSA if Houston goes B12? You are now recruiting against B12 (Houston and UT) and SEC (A&M) for players.
