  1. No. There is not. There are "theories" by international disease analysists suggesting both scenarios. That's the "fear". Even the experts who study infectious disease their entire lives and win Pulitzers- don't know. It is rare that the form of transmission changes. It could in fact go the opposite direction according to some research. But even so.... The mishandling of this wouldn't take much of a shove to go from "oops" to "OHHHH... Fu**." I'm hopeful. Not too optimistic. This crap was fumbled the day that CDC's guidelines were released to the hospitals. These 2+ nurses futures and the growing panic rests straight on the shoulders of the CDC. But in other views- maybe the panic is exactly what the admin wanted?
  2. You don't even know who the hell I'm talking about....
  3. When you take into consideration the rate that the mutations have been occurring (350+ since May) and the fact that it has not been exposed to our type of environment where we have people frequently pumped with antibiotics and other medications and The higher level of caustic chemicals that are in our air- this is most certainly something to be concerned about. Extreme mutations are inevitable within the first 10 victims here in the US. The first 10 victims are inevitable also... It is very rare that a virus mutates it's form of transmission. But the simple fact that it can remain on surfaces for up to four days is pretty frightening. Ponder how many times you boys have gone into a public restroom to see that someone has missed the urinal? Think about your shoes and walking into your house.....having your children play on the floor..... We don't even know enough about this virus to know whether or not it is transmittable through animals either. Fact of the matter is- making absolution based comments is irresponsible. So is shuffling this off like it's just another Thursday... People that are buying out water at Walmart is a little much at this point but let's not kid ourselves and be arrogant about the situation...
  4. He definitely didn't look like it at UAB. He started doing that diving crap again. And got beat on the one-on-one coverage after he misread that 70 something yard run... Every one of the DB's played pretty crappy. That's easy to do when you're on the field for three quarters of the game. Most of those guys play special teams too. Our defense is going to continue to be exposed as tired and that was a good play call. These teams know that we do not have any depth right now.
  5. Oh this is just so silly.... Smh Can someone please post the X-Files "I want to believe" poster? God Bless........
  6. NO. They WILL NOT burn Connor's redshirt. It would be REALLY dumb.
  7. For once we agree.... ONCE. THE entire team is under fire FROM COACHES AND FANS. They aren't posting poor pitiful me crap .... We have future NFL PROSPECTS being iced to scout team but by all means..... Cry on twitter, DW. It IS IN FACT- your show. Get your head out of your self- glorified butt and listen to your coaches! Quit with the pity me BS. You HAVE AN ENTITE TEAM RELYING ON YOU and you threaten to quit because you may have to work a little bit harder? Please continue to call yourself a leader.... WOULD everyone be even talking about this if there was anyone even a hair less better to replace him? ANYONE? Do not make excuses for this crap. For anyone that thinks that this was not football related- I appreciate your positive outlook, but you're kidding yourself. If you really see this as AN ACCEPTABLE mentality in a starter- then we've got bigger problems than THIS season. Stop it. And here I thought that we were done with this crap at UNT- rebuilding year or not.
  8. I am never Debbie downer on here.... But I definitely am after some of the stuff I've heard this week. I sure hope that this staff gets a handle on motivating these athletes the right way. It will make or break the rest of these games.
  9. Considering the fact that everyone seems to think that we are not a young team....... we are an inexperienced team. But more so..... Our depth is THE BIGGEST reason for concern. Defense in particular. We have a lot of new injuries coming in. And a lot of people saying that these new guys haven't been on the field..... Let's hope that the minimal depth we have is enough to prove that Mac can recruit well AND HOPEFULLY WE KEEP THESE GUYS CLEAR FROM INJURY the rest of the season. There are a multitude of our guys that are absolutely in a world of pain at 23 years of age. Also consider that when you talk your trash. This is not the NFL.
  10. We are after yesterday afternoon. Yes. Let me just add this: I understand the staffs reluctance to start him at the beginning of the year. I coach and I played college sports. Give me a coachable athlete who commits to doing his job, grins and bears it and does what he has to do for the team even when he's not a starter and WE STILL GET THE GIFT OF HIM SHOWING UP FOR PRACTICE. The whole putting the team first thing has really worked out well for teams in the past. But I'm with Vito on this one- THIS YEAR: there really isn't a good choice.
  11. Smarts. I am disappointed with how long it took to get to a post like this.
  12. Both QBS ARE NOT READY. Whether DW is going to be a super stud or not- HE IS NOT GOOD RIGHT NOW. The LINE is faulted only when DW is taking the snaps though. Ridiculous. IMO- Call it fair or don't call it at all. I seem to remember a similar play where it wasn't necessarily a sack but DW tripping over our tackle and the D-lineman literally laying right beside him on the ground.
  13. This love fest with DW is nauseating. No one defended GREER when he threw less pick 6's against Texas but we start threads defending DW WHEN HE PERFORMS LIKE THAT AGAINST UAB? Come on.
  14. What Marcus Trice brought to our secondary last year was WAAAY underrated. He made EVERYONE BETTER. We don't have "that guy" this year.
  15. THIS. I think if more people would pay closer attention they would recognize that Lee hasn't played more than 2 quarters a game this year.
  16. Lee has been injured. Funny that everyone thinks this is a defensive issue. 12 botched assignments by the corners and this is his back ups fault? Lol. I'm the first the say he screwed up. Every time. But he does have 9 tackles and 1 F UP. That almost TD WAS his assignment. He's one of 6 secondary players that has multiple screw ups. Today. The offense should be able to give up 28 points and we still win. Lee limping again through a series would've saved us. It's all the Defense and secondary's fault.
  17. The Defense CAN perform better. There has been a lot of distrust and inconsistency in the offense this year and unfortunately it looks like we have a defense that feeds directly off of that instead of performing like the game is still 0 to 0 (unlike the squad we had last year). Youth is probably a pretty large contributing factor. That said, the Indiana team that showed up was the one that beat Mizzou instead of the one that got beat by Maryland. Both were decent. We had a shot against one of them... Home-field advantage probably did not help either. Time will tell what these guys can do the rest of the year. I really hope that we have enough time to be able to establish a groove...
  18. I don't think so either. And I think this is a non story as well. But he's really the only one that Lee trusts to go in for him on 1st and 2nd downs when he's hurting. And he is hurting more often than not. And if our defense is going to be playing 3/4 of the game, I consider that role for any position rather important. If you think that our back ups are insignificant- you are being facetious...?
  19. Most importantly- let's hope that the whole team learned from this debacle and be glad that no one ended up hurt that night.
