  1. Yep. And the defense didn't alter or adapt to any of the playcalling not to mention that I didn't see a blitz the entire day. **It is extremely difficult to play in the secondary in these types of scrimmages.
  2. This is a fair comparison.... ? We aren't really trying to compare a guy that lost his starting position to mini Mac to Johnny Football, are we? Or a quarterback that was on a FSU team with a reputation of being thug-ish and that were just as egotistical as him ? Come on. This isn't hard, guys. They make movies about this kind of stuff. You cannot win football games and you cannot get good recruits if players don't respect their leaders or coaches. That's asinine.
  3. Zero. You guys know way more about him than me . TBH- when I asked about him- didn't even know who he was....
  4. Ummmm.... I take it that you did not play high school or college sports... This is college football. Not peewee. The university is forking out close to $60,000 for this guy to get an education and play football. This is A JOB. The coaches are the boss. That's how this whole coach and player thing works. You do what you're told and you don't whine or throw a temper tantrum because stuff didn't go your way. You do this or you get the hell out. If you aren't mentally tough enough to be able to take criticism or a knock to your ego then what makes you think that said person would be a candidate to lead a 100 other grown ass men? No one is going to hold your hand or stroke your ego. There are a lot of other athletes on that team that are not getting a lot of playing time but still show up to practices, film, tutoring, film, practice...and get their ass kicked every freaking day without a single negative word. YOU ASK ANY COACH. The coachable player. ALWAYS. In a team sport- Who do you choose ? The coachable guy or the guy that is more interested in serving himself than his teammates. If this was track - I would say DW all the way. Being that there are 100 other guys on the team- coaches are going to pick a guy that does his job to the best of his ability and does everything he can to improve the team. Andrew McNulty May not be the most talented quarterback on the roster but he is most certainly the one who puts the team before himself. And any member of a team always chooses that guy to follow. But in the spirit of this thread... If maturity means absolutely nothing - I pick Connor Means. He has done just as well if not better in a lot of cases than any other quarterback that we've seen so far. We are probably not going to win conference this year. But look at the offensive players that we have coming up. Willy Ivery, Tee Goree, Jeff Wilson, Turner Smiley...... Put the freshman QB in there to develop and give him the experience that we need in order to develop a bad ass group in the next year or two. And if someone better comes along who meets all of the criteria in order to lead an offense better - then put him in.
  5. He's still recovering. It was one of the worst low ankle sprains they said that they had ever seen. He's back but not 100%. It will probably bother him for months. His mobility is obviously hindered with the amount of tape they use. Lol We have video of how it happened. I'll show you Saturday! MORE INJURIES OCCUR playing half speed than full speed.!!! ( Necessary evil, but sucks. He'll be playing in moderation with the 3's at the scrimmage.
  6. You guys don't forget while you're making your assumptions to take into consideration that injuries have played a part in this depth chart.
  7. Ha! I love it! And we shall drink to your 20,000 post, Mike!
  8. I missed you today- KRAM! And I missed out on meeting Silver & sthenos! My daughter had a tournament at Guyer today and since my favorite player seems to be in a boot right now... I didn't get to make it.
  9. It's a NEW season! Time to let go of last year.... TIME. TO. LET. IT. GO.
  10. There's a lot that can happen between now and SMU. If there's a time to take risks or give someone a shot- it's now. Week 3 and 6 is not the time to make drastic offensive changes. My only question is: If the staff had that much faith in him- why did it take 2 quarterback failures and six weeks for them to name him the starter LAST YEAR? Has he really gotten that much better? To be fair, we see the improvement in other players and comment on it all the time. It's not like McNulty has been in a time capsule through the winter. I guess we will see on Saturday.
  11. Soooo... We are suggesting that Walsh has a low success rate producing QB's based on the knowledge that they weren't 5 star, 7 figure pro quarterbacks? Just trying to understand correctly.....
  12. I'm confused. You just cited 2 NFL quarterbacks.
  13. AAU- I SAW.... HOLY. HERA. Uhhhhheeeemmmm...... As I was saying.... He's healthy. https://mobile.twitter.com/QuinnShanbour/media/grid?idx=0&tid=580167229779488768 http://t.co/r8BsjRcNew
  14. Here's the thing.... Shanbour. That guy is CRAZY talented and smart. If he is given an opportunity- he's the guy. From my understanding- he's healthy and ready to go. He learned the play book in 1 WEEK and was doing hand signals for coaches on the sidelines. HE IS THE ONE TO WATCH.
  15. This. He's quite transparent in his musings. But- like most of his articles..... That is an opinion. Now everyone who reads his blog knows mine, too.
  16. FTR: there is a variety of scenarios that have been taking place in practices. But for the most part twos go against twos, threes against threes (so far) etc. for the most part..... It is very very difficult to make determinations regarding skill levels of performance in these types of situations outside of first team. Unless- you are evaluating offensive play. Go ahead and read some of the old posts regarding spring play evaluations in past seasons. They're all the same. We cannot make any determinations or valid opinions regarding our second string when they're playing against our fourth string 3 out of five snaps....
  17. I don't know his case specifically but I do know that if he has had turf toe for that long (probably had a dislocation, complete tear or fractures) he's flirting with a surgical fix to prevent a bone spur and a variety of other issues. It most likely wasn't treated correctly the first time he acquired the injury and he continued to reinjure it.
  18. This is what happens when egos inflate. The disciplined team wins. FSU looked good the first qtr. I thought that Oregons O looked slow the first few series. FSU crumbled after not knowing how to handle any sort of failure. Hard to watch.
  19. Agree. But like all of "the committee" desicions- boils down to $$$$$. OSU and FSU can sell more tickets for more $.
