For the record, I am an alumni...not even qualified for the "young alumni section" But yes, it is a problem. 7,500 more people couldn't come out Saturday so we could #Hit30K? Over 200,000 alumni in Metroplex, shoot, Denton alone has over 100,000 people, Denton County has over 700,000 people. If I lived in Denton County and wasn't a UNT alumni, I'd still be intrigued to go see a football team for a ridiculously affordable price and soak up the college football experience. I just don't get it, and there's always going to be excuses "it's too hot, it's too early, it's too cold, it's too late, it's too this or too that"... I got the impression that a majority of the HOD crowd were alumni since students were complaining about the price. I thought every single one of those people would show up Saturday. I was wrong. One day, it will happen, and it will be glorious.

Allow me to preface this post by saying I love UNT's new president and had the privilege to shake his hand after we ran into each other on the streets of Austin after the game. He even introduced me to his crew as "MeanGreenMan" and has a lot of spirit and energy. Also, when it comes to social media, he gets it. He tweeted about the game Thursday night and some students questioned if they could get out of class. Great idea! If it sells out, they could have a great time outside the stadium. Why not get the bounce house fired up and sell some concessions to those who get turned away? If it doesn't sell out, the free tickets is a non-issue. Each kid will still want a drink and some cotton candy. Goes back to that ol' marketing concept about giving something away. I fully expect the wing to be green. Need it to match my mask for the first time in the history of Apogee. I got a feeling I won't be disappointed #Hit30K

It's your friendly neighborhood #MeanGreenMan. Not the first, and probably won't be the last time I've been called Green Lantern. I've been dining on Burnt Orange Steak, doing squats with a bevo draped over my shoulders, and seeing the Horns every day all year in preparation to show up tomorrow and without a shadow of doubt, be the best fan among 100,000. I ran it by the wife, and MeanGreenMan was shot down immediately. Maybe she could drop me off in Fort Worth and then Big & Rich can drive me down 35 in that bus. Of course, I'll strap my feet to the top of the bus so that cape catches some good wind action and drop the Talons on Baylor's new stadium. I may be able to make this happen yet...

I expect Chico will have a lot of helmets flipped upside down in his office this year.

And we must travel like crazy to this game! I'm definitely going there since I've made that trip countless times. Lots of UNT alumni in Houston as well.

I would imagine the week between the UT & SMU game as the first episode last year was after the Idaho game. Unless they throw in a bonus episode with some fall camp coverage.
