  1. My degree is from a school with better academics. This makes no sense.
  2. And UNT has never been in a Final 4, Elite 8 or Sweet 16. How sad.
  3. Let me know when UNT makes a Sweet 16, and by that I mean the real Sweet 16 not the rinky-dink Not Invited Tournament.
  4. They're not ready for this conversation.
  5. Man wants to play P5 ball and secure a large chunk of NIL money, he's already proven himself in the G5 by becoming an All-American. Coaches do what's best for themselves, glad the kids can too. If he was transferring to UNT, you guys would be jumping for joy.
  6. Persuade you from not trying? None of us are in control of the athletic department.
  7. Having someone on the ropes twice are still 2 losses no matter which way you try to stretch it. Sure, anybody has a puncher's chance on any given night, hence why we play the games, but I don't think UNT would be favored against any of those 6 teams you named. Maybe a push with Princeton.
  8. McCasland is doing great things, but if you think this team is on the cusp taking down Gonzaga, Texas Alabama, Miami, Creighton, or us, then either you're too geeked up over the NIT or just simply don't know anything about basketball. Again, the NIT is a great accomplishment but you truly don't realize that the deep rounds of the real tournament is a whole different monster. Can UNT get there? Sure. Are they anywhere near that level now? No. Not at all.
  9. NIT basketball is a cute competitive intermission that is good enough to hold you over through the week.
  10. Sampson had the freshmen thrown into the fire against Memphis and in other crucial games. Now its paying off.
  11. Yes, I mean eliminated in the 1st round Memphis.
  12. I hate Memphis as much as I hate Texas Tech. Im glad they lost.
  13. Good timing. Our AD isn't competent enough to make it intentional.
  14. It's a real joy reading the "We didn't want to join the Big 12 anyway" posts on Ponyfans. Especially after they saw our home schedule. The fact that they're willing to join the Pac 12 for free is even more pathetic.
  15. Sweet 16 is when all of the riff-raff is gone and the games get serious. Hope to see UNT there. Would give me a reason to bring out some of the old CK.
  16. Chandler Rogers is the guy Jason Bean couldn't beat out in high school.
  17. We already have a quarterbacks coach. If Littrell gets the job, he just needs to worry about keeping Dana's red bull fridge filled and maybe call a few plays.
  18. He was only 30. In addition to coaching several all conference players, some of whom have gone to the NFL, he also ran the summer camp. He has two young children. Prayers to his family.
  19. Stars do matter but they aren't everything. A 5 star recruit is not guaranteed to make the NFL, but most of them do. https://247sports.com/Player/Ed-Oliver-30459/high-school-49707/ Big Ed is considered to be the 127th greatest high school football player of all time, the #2 overall recruit in Texas that year and the #3 defensive tackle in the country and was one of the best players we've had in school history. I told this story before, when he first got to Fall Camp, he was on the 2nd team defense. Halfway through the 1st practice, he was a starter and the rest of course is history. So while there are outliers like Patrick Mahomes and JJ Watt, most of the time the star system gets it right.
  20. Rice could easily be P5 if they wanted to, same with the Ivy League. They have plenty of money to pour into athletics.
  21. If this all comes to pass, Rice will be the only former SWC member to not return to a power conference .
  22. The fact that the Pac 12 commissioner is on their campus means it's a lock that they're gone. Bowlsby was on our campus right before we announced our Big 12 invite.
