  1. Lets just sum it up like this: NTs 3rd best win is still loads better than SMUs best win... and that doesn't even take margin of victory into account, otherwise it'd be even heavier that way.
  2. There is one more important reason we want UTSA to win over Tulane: Money There is a two week build up for this game (both teams have a by after this week). If UTSA wins they still have an outside shot at winning C-USA west. You can bet their fans are gonna be jacked up for the game in Denton if they win, and there will be quite a bit more of them up in Denton putting money for tickets into the athletic departments coffers. If they loose on the other hand, there will be a lot less of them.
  3. Just to make sure your safe: You did tell your friends to put you in a hopefully green) straightjacket and watch you closesly during the UTSA game.? You know just in case UTSA would score on their first drive or something. If not please do so now, somebody jumping off the wing zone would make for awful publicity.
  4. This. So. Nice. Me. Feeling. Dizzy.
  5. Maybe.. but then again their feelings about that loss are probably a lot like those of UNT fans about their loss to Tulane ...as in how great would this season be if only we had taken care of buisness in that game. Particularly as they were up at the half and all.
  6. I am waiting for that slip up loss by SMU to happen. they almost managed it 3 times already this year, only to pull it out somehow. They beat Montana state last minute only because of very friendly officiating they beat memphis 1-6, barely. they spotted 1-7 (including losses to Idaho and FCS Fordham!) temple a 21 point lead... at home. and only pulled it out in the 4th quarter. And with the exception of that Rutgers game the losses are all ugly losses. I don't see them winning with TxState on a neutral field and not with UTSA even at home SMu seriously is the second worst FBS team in Texas right now, and how they can be ahead of Rice in anyones poll is seriously a mystery to me.
  7. I hadn't watched a cowboys game in a long time. But I see dunbar in and already having caught 4 or 5 passes and barely seen him run. Are the cowboys thinking of him as mostly a receiver now?
  8. We also have the most points scored for and least points scored against in the West... That should also tell people something
  9. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/11/3/5060878/bowl-projections-2013-predictions/in/4821881 I really like this prediction Playing Tennessee in Memphis would be nice.
  10. well a 3 way tie is pretty much impossible now unless someone drops a really akward one, so head to head will come into play. A 4 way tie on the other hand is still possible (although not exactly probable). All it takes: UTSA to win out (including games against tulane and NT), and Tulane to beat Rice, and then for all 4 teams to win games against everyone else. So if UTSA beats Tulane they are gonna come into the game against NT still having an outside shot at the conference title. I am sure the guys at UTSA are talking about this right now
  11. I got C-USA alln access and they don't have this one.... on a somber note they also f-d up the promised stream of MTSU-UAB
  12. Dang it I don't see where I can change the topic title Edit: Ah nice, I see somebody did it for me
  13. http://www.sbnation.com/2013/11/1/5056200/carl-pelini-cocaine-marijuana- So it seems it was not only the Marijuana, but also cocaine. That changes matters a bit of course. Still I think the AD was quite happy someone put in a FOIA request, so he could put it out there.
  14. What has me worried about this game is a) can we get a really good number of fans in, and b ) can we make sure nobody on our team gets hurt. Other than that: happy times
  15. If he does not get drafted after this kind of season (and the awesome return seasons he had prior to this season), then all NFL scouts deserve to be fired. As far as punt/kick returners go he has a good sample size with the pretty much most excellent results possible out there. And even at the NFL level he might be a servicable receiver to boot when you need one.
  16. I think our defense will be a bit worse next season, some of those defenders will need a moment to play at the level of this years seniors, but overall the defense will still be ok. I also think the offense might not be better than this season, because chancellor will certainly be missed, and whether any of the QBs is actually better than DT has to be seen. What I do fear though is a steep regression in special teams. I think our incredible depth and of course Brelan have a load to do with our awesome special teams play this year, and BC will be gone and depth everywhere will be thinner nex year.
  17. Every time i think it will be impossible for him to rack up the numbers needed for the punt return record, because opponents will do everything and anything to make sure he does not get an opportunity, everytime i get to that point, someone is stupid enough to kick/ punt it to him.
  18. It seems to me they are putting Rollins in there straight up for Pegram. And Rollins seemed to do quite well with that too.
  19. It is november and the wheather is getting colder, the wind is getting stronger. So maybe you are feeling a bit under the weather, maybe you and your favourite football team have cought a cold, maybe your sinuses are full of mucus, and you find breathing difficult. What to do? We have the solution for you! The University of North texas presents: THE MEAN GREEN DEFENSE, (now using a heavily improved formula) We guarantee that this physically applied treatment will knock the snot right out of you and your football team! You should consult your physician or other health care professional before starting this or any other treatment to determine if it is right for your needs. Common side effects include but are not limited to: bruises, hallucinations (you'll see this defense do things that you know should be impossible), impotence (the university has received repeated complaints by customers that they experienced a "inabilty to score"), panic attacks, and body dysmorphic disorder (fthe football players on your team may experience unhappyness with their bodily form after the treatment), and generally a creative rearangement of your players anoatomies. . It may take up to 30 Minutes for the treatment to take full effect. This treatment is most effective when applied at the practicians office. Adress: Apogee Stadium, Denton, Tx.
  20. At home the team has not given up a single second half point all season! That is just incredible. going back to last season that is now 5 second half home shut outs in a row! The last time an opponent scored a second half point at appogee was ArkState on November 3rd 2012 (a single TD in the 3rd), so by this time next week noone will have managed that feat in over a year! Nobody scored more than 10 second half points at Apogee since November 19th, 2011! Also: 2 very realistic Ws away from going undefeated at home for the season! #NotInOurHouse
  21. I hope they do, but I fear they are so down this year, a lot of their fans may wait to visit UNTs campus until basketball season
  22. To me the whole game will simply be remembered and referred to as "THE STAND"
  23. gotta love nature... particularly this natural order thing
  24. I guess Cristoball is the obvious choice... if they manage to pay him enough money to take the job that is. I guess we don't know all the details, but if he just was at a pot event, this sure is one where the AD can do whatever he wants if you as a coach are stupid enough to get cought in that situation. And at 5-15 over two seasons an AD that did not hire you just might use it to get rid of you. Easy. The AD does sound rather unspecific here, I would gather though that he hints at having more on the coaches. If he does have something significant more, then he might not have had a choice, but the timing and manner seem somewhat particular. It's a pitty for FAU, they seemed on the uptick, and the remainder of the schedule was managable. On the other hand it still is, and if the AD wanted Pellini gone, waiting for that to happen might have been unwise. Also they may have been on the uptick, but not in big leaps. And if he does get Cristobal, then the AD is nothing but a shrewd man who may just turn out to be the winner type I hope their team goes into FU mode and beats the living sh... out of tulane
