  1. I get that you don't like Banowsky, i guess that has to do with your second alma mater. I get that he was a bit very quick at backfilling the conference after the first defectors, and that this has cost the conference dearly (others probably might have come back if FIU and UNT, LaTech and UTSA was all he'd gotten). But if the other options are Benson or Arresco, then please give me Banowsky (have you noticed Arrescos awful performance on Bowl and TV stuff). Also even if Banowsky wants this (I honestly got no clue if he does) I just cannot see the school Presidents / ADs going along with it, because there is no reason for expanding right now for C-USA. Thus, nothing will happen. Also, how can an article that says that C-USA is NOT interested stirr so much uncertainty. To me this looks just like JMU is trying to get better terms in their negotiations with the belt.
  2. I think RV is watching the football front on that one... every win Mac gets raises the amount of games Teflon Tony needs to win to stay on after this year, because it will give RV confidence he has the money for this buy-out. As soon as Mac gets to 6 RV knows he can keep him at least 2 more years, putting Tony on notice that this season better be an improvement over the last one.
  3. Glad to see you are doing this. UTEP is a bit high for my taste, I was neither impressed by their wins nor by their losses, and saw quite a bit of those games. FAU on the other hand I'd have a bit higher. Yes the record may not look awesome, but they went to overtime with MTSU (which you are high on) and looked pretty competitive against ECU too, and throttled USF (not a big deal this year, but gotta take care of buisness).
  4. I don't think kugler is any better than Price... might be worse if anything. I think there are some hard times coming for UTEP
  5. he's got a lot of facts wrong though.... the first 2 years under mac were 9-15 not 7-17 and last years team was 4-8 not 3-9
  6. Glad you clarified this for me. I understand it better now, before I figured there was some slightly unstable reffing when it came to this
  7. If a fan does not know that, then this is totally ok. If an AD does not know this, then he is simply not doing his job. I dare say that any AD not able to tell you about every FBS team what conference they are in is not worth their pay. Why? because you will every now and then be able to sway people to vote with you on NCAA stuff. For that kind of thing you need to know the landscape. Intimately. If you want to make an informed decisicion on whether your conference should invite a specific other program, you need to know what the landscape and the options are. These people get paid too well to suck at this. I would not want their AD.
  8. Hey is there still a way to get the postgame show for ball state... just to relieve how the feeling was
  9. The new powerranking on minerrush is out. UNT is up to 4th spot this week.
  10. Kicking myself for some of those decision... generally the week before I was too optimisitic about C-USA and now this week I was slightly on the pesimisitic side. I mean that i did not see the FIU disaster coming I get, Marshall-Ohio was a 50-50 (and Marshall would have been better if they had not had a black tunrover night), but i was sooo close to picking tulane. And How did I pick USF over an FAU that had looked decentish in it's losses when USF had this horrible horrible loss to McNeese... what was going on in my head???? Good job ChiefrisingEagle
  11. I think I speak for most mean green fans when I say, that even though we are high on this years team, we don't expect them to win at georgia. The recruiting capacities are just too different. But we do expect a good showing, maybe even for things to still be close after the 3rd. If NTplays with the grit they played all games this season (any maybe for once tack on a decent start) for 60 minutes, then good things will happen, and our atheltic department will have some very nice footage for the highlight reel. But me, most importantly I want to see everyone come home healthy, so we can start the conference play successfully.
  12. Myerbergs ranking (the one from above) has come out for today and Myerberg has NT ranked in 80ieth spot (higher than i thought he would, be he had been high on ball state before that), That is the highest I remember him ever having us (and I have been following this for a few years now (with his rankings being at presnapread before he moved to USA today).
  13. Gonna hang some time with em, say 25 minutes. Not quite there though. Defense does not get run over in the second half though, keeping it respectable NT 17 UGA: 35
  14. There are many factors without which UNT would not have won this game to name a few: - DTs great performance (for me easily his best game in his career) - Chancellor being his (awesome) self - Other receivers stepping up - Laramie Lee lowering the boom and subsequently everyone in the back seven joining in But to me what really won this game, more than anything was depth on both lines. We actually had a pretty terible first 20 minutes but by the end of the first half Ball states lines looked in gased. Partially this may have been due to the heat and our guys starting to knock out a few of their players, but our players sure kept looking fresh until the end of the game and I believe this has everything to do with depth. Simply put: we finally got it. An doesn't it feel nice! (now if we could only learn how to get faster out of the gate)
  15. He did run it well and kept the momentum going, and yes the coaches did use a much smaller playbook for him, as they would have for both BB and DW too, and as they used to for DT too a few seasons ago. The fact that he ran it well made me think he is very useful as change of pace, but yes I was still happy when DT who was having a cereer night, was coming back. But coming in cold, this was a solid effort.
  16. Sure is true that in this game particularly at the beginning NTs players may not have been able to get to the ball first when they passed, but they sure always took some pain when they did. By the beginning of the second half their receivers were clearly thinking about how they were going to get hit when they should have been thinking about how to make the catch.
  17. This game is totally worth staying up till 2 Am in europe
  18. McNulty ran pretty good... yet I still don't think I would find myself waitig this impatiently for DTs return. He was pretty good so far today
  19. I am still excited... I can totally feel the energy changing.
