  1. one of those schools being...Wichita State...where we held them scoreless for like 12 minutes to start the second half and erase a 13 point half-time deficit
  2. I love how this thread has gone from "he might be dead" to "was he any good?" in like a half-dozen posts.
  3. because some dude with nothing better to do hasn't found a low-production, shaky-premised YouTube documentary on any of those subjects? yet, that is.
  4. I really can't believe we're still having to do this. and all because someone is spending waaaaay too much time on YouTube. I did not make it anywhere near all the way through the podcast video (though, something is definitely going on with the comments section algorithm)...the point of which I took in what I did watch was that Floyd first said "I can't breathe" while in the police cruiser, that Floyd was on drugs at the time, and that possibly Chauvin's knee was on his shoulder, not his neck for 8 minutes...and as such the public was sold "a lie". is that about right, @ADLER ?? and did not at all watch this "documentary", which I'm sure has absolutely no agenda... what I did watch is the body-cam footage. what I saw was a man detained for a petty crime...one that if you or I committed we would either talk our way out of as an accident or be ticketed for, so long as we didn't have a brief case full of fake $20s on our person. what I saw was a man scared of the police detaining him, scared of the prospect of being arrested and then subsequently cuffed improperly and painfully...all leading to a heightened state. what I saw was a man begging for police to adjust his cuffs before he got into the police cruiser. what I saw was a man clearly having a medical episode while being forced into a police cruiser and clearly in fear of his own life. if this gets to be an argument for panic-behavior in a trained and armed police officer (or 4, in this case), I'd say it's an argument for one being detained too what I saw was a man having a medical episode dragged to the ground, all still while cuffed, and an officer keep him pinned on the concrete, right night to a presumably running exhaust pipe. what I saw was the life go out of a man's body...and a "public servant and safety officer" continue to keep a dead body pinned for at least three minutes while finally a medical call was placed, initially as a "no-lights" emergency, before being upgraded what I saw was a lifeless body being put on a stretcher...STILL IN CUFFS...and no effort being made to resuscitate until after he was on the ambulance. again, all for something that you and I would've just walked away from. George Floyd died that day because of, at bare minimum, depraved indifference from the Minneapolis police department and the officers responsible needed accountability.
  5. this is about where I'm at. we're 5-5...but we're 11 points away from being away from being 9-1. this is still a good team with a lot of the same bones as the last few seasons...it's just lacking clutch and a real calming presence on the ball. I think some of the regression we're seeing defensively is more the result of trying to play at a bit higher pace, more than overall personnel...would not be opposed to just going back to snail's pace in conference.
  6. blaming NIL exclusively is their security blanket.
  7. why does God seem to be so heavily-invested in the transfer portal? everything going on in the world and he/she's concerning him/herself with the life-plan of a third string-linebacker?
  8. things I want to see (but know I probably won't bc like GM's teams, what we see is likely what we're getting the rest of the season): - an offensive system that is actively putting the ball in Scott's hands around 15-17ft out and letting him work...whether it be the Thomas Bell back-down, or facing up from the low block-extended. especially against Boise I didn't feel like the ball was going through him enough, he almost seemed to accidentally end up with looks and he seemed rushed to get them up. a few more kick out wing/corner threes (he's shooting 48% from deep) would be nice too. - Robert Allen starting at the 5. I'm the one constantly harping it doesn't matter who starts...Edwards for example is in his perfect role...but Allen is clearly so far beyond Sissoko right now. honestly, outside his brilliant OSU game, I'm really not sure what everyone saw in Sissoko to anoint him an automatic starter. he's a fine back-up, but Allen is doing so much more. minutes distribution is starting to reflect that, but I'd like to see his energy from the start. this team desperately misses Abou. - Rubin continuing to be assertive looking to score. there was a stretch before he fouled out where Rubin went 3-4 times to the hoop and seemingly finished with ease. if that means taking him off the ball for stretches (Noland is a more than capable initiating 1), I'm here for it. everything else, I think we've kinda gotta live with. I get the temptation to want to see Cotton and Moore...I gotta trust in Hodge's assessment of what he's seen in practice here. this is EXACTLY the bill sold with Buggs (scoring numbers are down, but so too are his shots...percentages are comparable...and if you check his game log from last season he had some big 0-fer nights at UTSA, including twice going 0-10 from the field. dude is streaky) and Stone is filling a role no one else on the roster can (3/4-combo)
  9. I don't know why you keep losing us games. you claim to be a fan, but yet here you are, jinxing the team you claim to support.
  10. I refuse to point to that play. it was like a thrice tapped around ball that Edwards's hustle got him...he was positive in his attack and Boise made a good defensive play/the refs didn't blow for the first trip in 3+ minutes. if Edwards finishes/gets a call we're praising it.
  11. this L is on Hodge. I still think he's the person to keep moving this program forward, but he too needs to grow. in the end, I'm fine with it all. we're not an at-large team. never thought we were and this should put to bed any conversation around it. we're going to be a problem for everyone we play in the AAC, but we're playing late in March only through another tourney run, which I think we can make.
  12. we've also apparently lost every time you've posted about the uniforms. maybe it's your fault. maybe shut up.
  13. we have neither an offense nor a closer. we haven't really had an offense for much of Grant's tenure...but we always had closers to bail us out. I think FAU's run skewed a lot of people's opinions of what the ceiling for this team could be. program growth is non-linear...and as a program, we're still growing...but this year is going to be a regression. one that any reasonable person would expect from losing a head coach and 70% of the scoring.
  14. nah. this asshat has a narrative going. don't give facts.
  15. We’re not doing much to put him in the best positions to score
  16. Always improves a broadcast to have a Brit on the call. C-team Premier League team > Nantz/Romo
  17. No doubt…just making sure the parallel is drawn. To be clear, I agree with your original premise.
  18. get over it. this is turning into one of the worst bits on this site.
  19. why is an 18 footer for Scott the best we can do in end clock situations?
  20. I’m a bit frustrated at the lack of action run to get the ball in Scott’s hands in good attacking positions.
  21. Was thinking the same. Get the spray and push-broom out at half
