  1. It's going to take years of 2013 for things to change. So let's worry about how to make that happen.
  2. Give this kid the rest of the season, plus spring, plus summer, plus fall, plus hopefully a new head coach and signal caller. Imagine what he could be next year. For the doubters, anyone see the SMU qb last year? Chad Morris has made him better. Anyone see what Trevon Boykin was before the co-OC came in last year? From dud to Heisman candidate! Coaching matters! He has talent, we need someone who can put it together and find the next guy, and the next, until a P5 steals him.
  3. No he's not. We can't afford him. And if we could, I'd be interested...maybe. As AD? Where do I sign? Can't afford that either. It's just not realistic, he can get a P5 job and has an easy good paying job that he's not bad at.
  4. Up and coming programs need up and coming coaches. Make that a slogan of this board!
  5. Why not North Texas? Because we don't even approach kids who we think we don't have a shot at. Because they could never flip anyone. They were head over heels with themselves for flipping kids from Nevada and Texas State. This is why whoever the hire is must have a name these kids know and a system they want to play in. They don't want to take tests and play a conservative north Texas offense. I know defense might be a bigger issue right now, but I think Scaldany showed that's an easier fix. Cosh was at buffalo for a reason. Give me the best OC we can get with Texas ties and enough tenure to grab a great staff and let's go.
  6. Like the guy, but NO. Especially after watching his postgame presser. His evaluating, developing, and recruiting haven't been good enough. He's a smart guy, but any of the OC guys we are considering could do more with what's here and bring in better talent. That's what we need, but they have to be able to bring in a good D staff cause that side of the ball is horrendous.
  7. He has talent but he needs work. He's got a lively arm and he gets a little pumped up and inaccurate. He's got some upside, just needs to play and learn.
  8. The 17 know the new AD will kiss their ass too, right?
  9. Maybe they'll stop scheduling us for Thursday games. Id rather not be on tv than show that crap.
  10. It'll be a turd stained window to our university tonight.
  11. This is getting a lot of legs on Twitter as well. We are the punchline of college football. F Chip Kelly.
  12. I hope nobody freaks out when he struggles. No doubt he should be playing, but this is a big challenge and a tough game to get your first start. I'm just hoping for some progress and some touchdowns on the board. Topping our season high of 24 would be great, although I expect to give up 50+.
  13. This is a fairly common way of doing things, and I took faculty to mean Smatresk and BOR types, not professors or deans. Now, that's not to say I trust the braintrust that would form this committee, especially compared to other big programs that do this. On the other hand hiring consultants like Neinas have their negatives as well. I just hope they can come to a consensus and find the right guy. I also think this limits the chances of us going way off board and hiring a name nobody is considering like the McCarney hire.
  14. Did Fritz run the triple option before he got to Ga. Southern or did he just adopt it because they already had that identity? If he plans to run that here, I'm not nearly as interested in him.
  15. I think they are down to their 3rd RB now. Not that it will matter.
  16. I don't get the Briles thing at all. He's not even 33 years old yet! He's only been a coordinator since last December, and he's only worked for his dad. We have no idea if he can run an entire program. Seems way too risky.
  17. Sure that's not just 35 related construction. I'm aware we own it and are going to use it for offices soon, but 35 claimed half that lot for construction purposes. I can get a pic, but not sure how to post one on here easily.
  18. Neal Brown and Dino Babers are the only ones of this list that I would consider and MIGHT come here.
