  1. What's the name of the conference they're in?
  2. Sounds like you need a North Texas Cup - a "must have" for every UNT football fan.
  3. Hopefully this helps us land some of the higher-end recruits we're looking at! Vito's article: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2013/07/unt-adds-select-camp-to-a-big-week.html/
  4. I'd like to be more excited. But I think many of us remember how excited we've been leading up to seasons in the past and then recall how black and blue our balls were from being kicked in them so many times throughout the season. It's hard to get excited about bruised balls, Plumm. Maybe if we get GMG cups the mood of the board will become more positive!
  5. "Innovative" uniforms and "hip" social media accounts don't magically make losing teams sexy. Winning makes teams sexy.
  6. What's the current payout per school for CUSA's TV contract?
  7. We need 7 wins, a bowl appearance, and attendance records. All three are doable. We need to capitalize on them so that we can make a national splash.
  8. True...but would Jimmerson be Jim Jim without Byrd having first worn down the defense with power runs up the gut?
  9. Good to see steady improvement throughout the years.
  10. I hope Tulsa and UTEP stay... Even with Tulane gone this would still be a great regional division for all involved. Great for all schools to recruit local players in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
  11. I would say Texas State or ULL. We mostly recruit Texas and Louisiana so having another game per year in those states could pay recruiting dividends along with the added benefits of close travel, regional rivalries, etc.
  12. I really hope Brock is as good as advertised. We sure could use a top 30 quarterback... Bring it on, Brock!
  13. Thanks for the kind words! Best of luck to ECU.
  14. I was thinking this last night when watching Alabama vs. Notre Dame. Alabama didn't do anything crazy - they just did everything really well and executed consistently. Looks like what Mac is trying to build here and I couldn't be happier. You just have to have good players in every position to make it work which we haven't had. Hopefully this is the year he can make the plan come to life.
  15. Tulsa, UH, UTEP, and UNT to the MWC please. It would add a solid footprint in Texas and Oklahoma for the MWC for recruiting, adds some good markets to MWC, and make for good regional rivalries with (mostly) similar universities. I really hope that RV is in talks with UH and Tulsa trying to form partnerships for package deals somewhere.
  16. If nBE is becoming the league where the old CUSA private institutions (Rice, SMU, Tulsa, Tulane) band together...and UH is mad at SMU for not taking a serious look at MWC as a joint package...and UTEP wants in to the MWC... Is there a chance that UH, UTEP, and UNT work out a package deal to give the MWC a solid footprint in Texas? The three schools are all fairly similar public institutions and would certainly build some great rivalries. Seriously, look how much CougarKing has single handedly stirred the pot on this forum...imagine if we were actually in a conference with UH and UTEP and how full those stadiums could be after a few years of conference to heat things up. The private institutions can band together and go to nBE while UH, UTEP, and UNT go to MWC.
  17. There was a 60 Minutes story the other week on college football revenue and how it (typically) helps fund other on campus sports. It obviously depends from university to university but it's a really interesting 13 minute clip. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50135410n
  18. I want the Irish to win. But the Crimson Tide will probably come out on top.
