  1. So with the addition of Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic, is this correct? CUSA East Marshall Old Dominion Charlotte FIU FAU UAB MUTS CUSA West UNT Tulsa La. Tech Southern Miss Rice UTEP UTSA
  2. I'd be willing to join the Longhorn Conference at this point.
  3. Please no FAU. Now that MUTS is added I'd rather have WKU, ULL, or a non-belt school.
  4. Yes, but at the same time money and resources would be more evenly distributed to all universities. In addition, recruiting would be much more focused around what each school has to offer and what the best fit for the student is over "I'm going to school x because they're in an AQ conference and I'm more likely to get looked at for the NFL." Stronger programs will always exist, but a set up like this would help even the playing field (just a little bit).
  5. New Orleans TV market. That's it. That's the only reason. BE wants a TV deal with as many big cities as they can get. They're not concerned about geographic layout, regional rivalries, travel costs, filling stadiums, or anything logistical. All they want to do is get schools in large media markets so they can pitch a pretty number and get a fat check for it. That's all.
  6. My notes do yours no justice, Harry. But here are a few tidbits
  7. *EDIT: I started this as a Skip Caldwell thread hence the title but it turned into a Mac Show highlights thread and forgot to change the title. Lost 13 scholarship players (seniors). Signing 20 this class. Will be the first time at the full 85. Gave out their ideal allocation for ships but I missed all of the exact numbers. At the end of the list he said they're leaving 2 scholarships slotted for "athletes." Doesn't care what side of the ball they're on - just looking for two exceptional guys who can make some serious game changing plays. Mentioned that they hope to have have 3-4 JUCO transfers in January. The way he phrased it made it sound like they were a package of some sort. Hopes to have much more depth and skill in 2013. Alluded that Berglund is really good but still in competition with Thompson and McNulty. Pegram has given defensive players 6-7 stingers throughout the fall in the scout team - good hard runner. Only two guys won't be back for spring practice - all other injured players will be back and ready to go. *George Perspective - McCarney is first coach since 70's to have 4 or more wins in each of his first two seasons. *Guest Fact - McCarney has two more wins in his first two seasons than Fry did Mac mentioned a "guy nobody really knows about yet" in Skip Caldwell. Said he came from Kentucky and is eligible for two years. Looks quick and shifty. Mac was high on him as someone who can contribute in an area of weakness for us. I'm sure other guys have more tidbits so please fill in what I left out. GO MEAN GREEN! This post has been promoted to an article

  9. What's the red tape around forming a new conference? I thought there was a probation period of some length where you couldn't attend bowl games/tournaments or something??
  10. Creighton announcers and head coach giving UNT lots of respect and complements.
  11. Oh yeah...I forgot he was on the chelf this season. (I couldn't resist)
  12. Very interesting. Thanks for digging that up, Harry!
  13. There's been a lot of talk about lack of depth in specific areas of the team as well as a lack of talent and DMAC recruits. Who all is redshirting this year and do you think they'll provide the boost we need next year to be competitive in CUSA?
  14. Announcers just called ULL "Louisiana Monroe" I'm never happy about "North Texas State" but I'll take that over being called the name of a rival!
  15. Students turned out last night and were LOUD on TV. Looked like a good number of them had bailed after the half though. What's the vibe on campus? Students talking about the win? Article in the NT Daily? People wearing green? Does President Rawlins have UNT painted on his chest?
  16. I love how we: 1. Won the game That's all.
