  1. This is stupid. UNT and University of North Texas are the same thing. Let people refer to us the way they want to... ...except for North Texas State
  2. Maybe I was wrong to use the word "meaningless", my thinking is that this particular UNT game, compared on a scale with the Rangers' ALCS game, is miniscule as far as importance. As for my "95%" usage, is it not reasonable to expect that the Rangers playoff game would draw much, much more attention than a UNT game against FAU? Don't get me wrong, I hope we beat FAU by a lot. I wish nothing but the best for UNT football. I know we will one day get to where our potential is and the team has my full support. However, playoff baseball takes up a few weeks while a football season lasts almost 4 months. I don't think it's unfair for a UNT fan to miss the game to watch the Rangers game. I'm a HUGE Rangers fan and I'll be at the UNT game instead. I'm just saying, that until UNT even begins to win on the field, they will not ever come close to attracting more attention than a Rangers American League CHAMPIONSHIP game. GO UNT and GO RANGERS
  3. I gotta say that I completely support eppy4life on this one. Are you kidding me guys? It's the freaking ALCS. Those of you that say you would turn down tickets to a MAJOR playoff game in favor of going to see the Unt game are delusional. Now personally, I will be at the UNT game instead of watching the Rangers. I have to admit, the only reason I am skipping the Rangers game is because I promised to bring some friends to the UNT game before I knew what day the Rangers played. If I hadn't, would my eyes be glued to the TV watching the rangers game? hell yea they would. 95% of people feel the same way. Win on the field and then you'll become a priority, but don't call out people for missing a pretty much meaningless regular season football game for an ALCS Rangers game. That's foolish
  4. Why on God's green earth would Tulane be an attractive addition to the Big 12. seems like a big reach to me?
  5. That pretty much sums up my feelings about him
  6. I have no clue what was up with Adams and Oliver tonight. Neither of them had it for some reason. I wonder why the hell Wash never wants to leave Ogando in for longer than an inning. The guy was a starter for the entire year...
  7. Meanwhile, Denton is more concerned with becoming the official HQ to the Sooner fans during Texas-OU next weekend? Winning draws interest. Truth is, much of Denton is apathetic towards UNT athletics in general just like SMU and Dallas. As the wins come for SMU, the interest will rise. Same principle with UNT and Denton.
  8. I'm so happy that philly lost today. I love being ahead of those assholes
  9. I mean for the love of god, we don't even play them in football but a few times every freaking decade. Let's move on and find a new rival.
  10. look fellas, I'm a huge UNT fan but while in the hell do we have to focus our time and energy on hating SMU?? Let's just give them credit for beating a mediocre TCU team this year. Let's worry about the Mean Green and do a little less of worrying about SMU's achievements. June Jones is a good coach and SMU is on the rise no question, but why should we let this piss us off?!?!?!
  11. I'm not too concerned. They had to face a talented pitcher that had made one start in his career. The Rangers always struggle against those kinds of pitchers. If we can pull off a win against Shields tomorrow, we will be in good shape going to Tampa. It's not like they have a dominant home-field advantage or anything
  12. Just as a big baseball fan, last night was amazing to watch. In my opinion, the greatest single night of baseball I've ever seen. Spectacular games, wild finishes, and all the drama was incredible. Anyone see the Rays player hit the game-tying home run, WHILE THERE WERE 2 OUTS AND 2 STRIKES IN THE NINTH INNING???? I mean the guy had like a .190 average on the year. When the hell else would that happen but on the final day of the season when it matters most. On another note, Go Rangers.
  13. maybe we could ask OU if they would be playing to play a game at ole Fouts Field. Send it out in style
  14. UNT 31 Tulsa 28 Tulsa misses a game-tying FG as time expires
  15. Rangers-Phillies World Series. Rangers have more pitching than NY and I don't see the Tigers having much more than Verlander and some good position players. The Phillies are the shoe-in for the NL, no one will come close to competing with them. Hopefully the Rangers can pull it off this year. I just can't wait to see some playoff baseball finally.
  16. I was SO impressed with our D tonight. giving up only 14 points and those 2 TD's were on busted coverage. We have a lot of coaching and growing up to be done, but I felt so good about our D during the game. I can tell that Mac and Bowen have been working their asses off to coach these guys up and it will only get better with time!
  17. The pass interference call was ridiculous and unacceptable at such a crucial point in the game. Also, the sideline interference call in the first half was strange. The ball spots for Indiana were definitely in their favor.
  18. UNT 41 Indiana 30 also, a sold out crowd GMG
  19. Tulsa's QB GJ Kinne hurt his knee last night (or should I say this morning) against Ok. State. Maybe he won't be ready for our game against them? Not sure how serious it is.
  20. I think it would be great to have a running QB eventually. Whether or not McNulty is that guy, we'll just have to wait and see. If you observe Chico's play-calling, much of it is based off of a QB option, if we had a mobile QB that was able to throw the ball 40 yards down the field and still be a threat to break off a 15-20 yard run, imagine how tricky our offense would be to stop and gameplan for. It's not a necessity, just a benefit.
  21. If we are ever competitive against teams of Bama's caliber, it would take at least a decade of improvement IMO. Not saying it won't ever happen, but we all know that to ever become close to the level of SEC talent, we need to get out of the Sun Belt first of all. Let's take the baby steps of shooting for a bowl game bid first before we worry about booking a trip to the national championship game. GMG
