  1. Very solid post. Ryder had a great game last night alongside the super duo of Benn and Loui. I believe that means we're due for a road win.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. I assume this means he is eligible?
  3. RV and Dr. Rawlings know a lot of stuff we don't know. But more importantly they know a lot of important people around the country.
  4. I wouldn't put much stock in what is written in forums or newspapers concerning UNT and realignment. We're more in the category of schools that benefit from the trickle down affect. I think most of our realignment talk is behind the scenes type stuff which is all that really matters. And I have confidence in R.V. and President Rawlins with their connections that we will not be left out in the cold.
  5. I'm not sure that folks saw my first post on this thread because this disussion is still going on on so I figured I would reiterate. Both Osborne and McNulty know when they are being evaluated and on what they are being evaluated. One is performing the other so much better in practice that the coach continues to state that it is VERY CLEAR where they stand in the backup QB competition. I am dumbfounded that some on this board fail to understand this concept.
  6. I don't get what else people don't get about this situation. McCarney has stated very clearly for 2 weeks in a row that one guy is simply performing head and shoulders above another guy week in and week out. Both guys know when they are being evaluated (in practice) and on what they are being evaluated.
  7. Wish that the new jerseys were more traditional and not the compression stle top, which is what it looks like. But I'm glad they got some Nike jerseys as they deserve it and I can't wait to see what the road unis look like.
  8. While my original point was a response to your statement that we simply give the ball to Dunbar up the middle over and over no matter what, which couldn't be farther from the truth, I will list a few adjustments/improvements this past weekend. 1)Scored on the road in the first quarter for the first time this year, against a good team. 2)Continued to force more fumbles and get more turnovers than we only could dream of for the past 5 years. 3)Continued to get more pressure on the QB with 4 sacks which equals 18 through 7 games. We had a total of 19 all of last year.
  9. Don't know what games you've been watching but Lance is our leading receiver so far this season. The coaches have been getting him the ball in different ways and situations all year. The amount of adjustments, both in game and week to week, made by this staff is one of the most obvious imrpovements this year.
  10. Gagreed, let me first say that I will be in attendance and catch the rest of the Rangers game afterwards just like I did last Saturday. However, I always believed that a football game was better than a baseball game until last year when the little baseball team that I root for made it to the World Series. I have now experienced the greatness of playoff baseball and can say that especially a World Series game is better than a regular season football game. That being said, as I stated earlier I will be in attendance to support the Mean Green. I am glad that we start an hour earlier though.
  11. I think most people were replying to the assumption that McCarney would blow a close game due to a "experimenting" with something that hasn't been tested yet. The late drive against Alabama wasn't a do or die situation therefore it was an acceptable point to try out a goaline package and see how it worked against the reserves of the best defense in the country. McCarney and Chico used that situation to test that package out, it didn't work and therefore it hasn't been attempted in an important situation if at all since. Perfectly acceptable in my book.
  12. The D has been successful because of McCarney not in spite of him.
  13. Yea that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. He actually so rattled by the 25 students in an empty stadium yelling at him that he lost his head and yelled multiple obscenities at multiple fans and eventually had his feelings hurt so bad that the event staff made the 2 girls behind us put their megaphone down and not use it the rest of the game. Pitiful to see a D-1 athlete that is so immature.
  14. And they won! Stanley Cup no brainer this year
  15. I've been expecting the ALCS and the red river shootout to effect attendance although the latter will probably only effect tailgating attendance. I personally will be tailgating and attending and unfortunately will only be able to follow the Rangers via iphong if I can get service. The only way I wouldn't be at the game is if I magically was able to get ALCS tickets. I was wondering if anybody but me is worried about the possibility of rain on Saturday? We tailgate in the premium student lot by the softball field and I really don't want it to rain during tailgating. I don't mind it raining during the game, I'm fine with watching the game in the rain. But I fear that if it rains during tailgate that they will move us to Fouts due to the disclaimer on the parking pass: "In case of lot closure or inclimate weather, pass is valid at Fouts Field."
  16. Lambeau is definitely #1 on my list of NFL stadiums to visit, the most historic and unique atmospheres in all of football. I would love to see a game at the scene of the ice bowl in person...... or at least sneak on the field when it's empty and scream that Kramer was offsides, then get arrested.
  17. Man I guess I am missing the point, I thought we were talking about college stadiums, my bad..
  18. First off seat backs are a waste if you want most of your fans to be standing for the majority of the game and they only look good when nobody is sitting in them because when people are sitting in them you can't see them. I think they built a good stadium with some great features but it is no where close to ours. And I know it's not a big deal but I said big time college stadiums have bench seating and FAU does not fall into the big time college stadium category, neither do we but ours is expandable. Look at any of the 65k and up stadiums and you will see plenty of bench seats.
  19. I don't see how bench seating is high schoolish when plenty of big time college football stadiums have plenty of bench seating.
  20. The letter goes out to all students via email before it is published in the NT Daily
  21. I probably just got caught off gaurd by the number of people bashing his decision making not being that of an experienced HC and insinuating his decision to go with McNulty was based on his relationship with McNulty's dad even though we were all told coming out of fall camp that McNulty had shown enough to make the backup QB spot essentially a tie if not slightly in McNulty's favor. However, there are plenty of folks on the board who did not immediately bash him so I shouldn't have added the last part to my post. Switching to an unrelated topic, I have been wondering about having a mic for the reporters as well. There are so few people asking questions I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard. Although it's kinda interesting trying to figure out what question was asked based on the answer given.
  22. I don't know how anybody can say that this isn't exactly the guy we need running our program right now after watching this press conference. It baffles me that some people feel he isn't the right HC for us.
