  1. Sell beer inside Apogee and attendance will increase significantly. The SMU game will be a guaranteed sellout if we have a good showing in Austin and beer is available for purchase at concession stands.
  2. Agreed, very funny. Loved the participation of Wintrich and Jub's son was pretty darn funny.
  3. I think if there was a good time for us to play them, it would've been the beginning of this year when the "country club" atmosphere was in full effect. Don't get me wrong, I think we will put up a good fight and I hope for the best but I think Charlie Strong is exactly the kick in the ass those players down there need. And that really sucks because I hate the longhorns more than any other program in the country. My dad and brother graduated from Tech and mom and sister from UNT so I have always hated the folks in burnt orange. I just wish they would've done something stupid like hire Gruden.
  4. According to stubhub they do sell beer. There's an alcohol policy tab on the right side of the page. http://www.stubhub.com/venue/cotton-bowl/
  5. Are they swiping IDs when you buy a student ticket or do you just have to show your ID?
  6. To those who have previously attended, how strict are the folks at the Cotton Bowl about sitting in the seat you bought a ticket for? I was just thinking about how big that place is and figured even if we have a great turnout there will still be plenty of open seating.
  7. $25 starting tomorrow http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/121113aad.html
  8. If you really watched him you would've seen that he was not great and could not run the ball. One of the main reasons Tech's offense wasn't as good as it could have been is that they didn't have good QB play.
  9. Agreed. He stared down every receiver he wanted to throw to (which was usually Amaro). This resulted in one of 4 outcomes after the first few games of the season: 1) Amaro was beastly enough to win the battle with defensive player 2) Interception 3) Near interception 4) He unsuccessfully tried to imitate Johnny Football by running or thinking he could scramble around to buy time which usually ended in a loss of yards. This would be understandable from a walk-on true freshman if there were some signs of improvement as the season progressed. However, despite having Kliff Kingsbury as his coach, he continued to make the same mistakes.
  10. LBs/DBs participate in 7 on 7 camps and tournaments as well
  11. I know the Cotton Bowl has hosted quite a few HS Playoff games this year, but I don't remember them ever doing so before this season. If I'm correct then the only players who have experienced playing there would be transfers.
  12. As long as Briles and Patterson are there, both Baylor and TCU will be good. If TCU had a decent QB this year their record would have been better despite having a very young team. Both coaches are relatively young and in their prime and will only get better at recruiting as they now have first class facilities and resources. And I'm pretty sure that both of their new stadiums were built for easy expansion just like most new college stadiums are.
  13. I don't think that's correct. Michigan is not close to the level Georgia was when we played them, and they definitely don't have the passing game that Georgia had. I don't think anybody came away from that game thinking Georgia slaughtered us
  14. May I ask what elements contribute to your analysis of McCarney and Franchione in order for them to be even?
  15. That guy needs to get his facts straight. We test our tornado sirens weekly.
  16. I hope it doesn't get any easier. That way we look better when we win the conference championship next year
  17. http://www.theunticket.com/dillon-the-argumentative-teen/
  18. The video work in both videos was pretty good. The songs though... those were pretty damn lame, especially the choruses. Give me the UNT rap over either of those
  19. My apologies for the delayed response. Didn't have time to check until now. Here are a few that I found: http://tracking.si.com/2013/06/24/kentuckys-kyle-wiltjer-leaves-basketball-program/ http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/seth_davis/02/07/hoop.thoughts/ http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/16/sophomore-forward-angel-nunez-to-leave-louisville/ I'm sure if I spent more than 10 minutes looking I could find plenty more examples if you would like.
  20. Quite the broad brush statement to say that players quitting is a coaching problem
  21. Corby-like hyperbole from a supporter of all things Houston... (because they've got it figured out for sure) I'd say there are quite a few issues ahead of the somewhat spare and probably largely unknown, by the masses, website being discussed. Oh, my bad, that totally earns them the title of "all that's wrong with Dallas". Carry on Dillon
  22. Hadn't seen this posted yet. http://centraltrack.com/Culture/4492/Tenacious-D/The-Mean-Green-Defense-Looked-Stout-On-Saturday-As-North-Texas-Continues-Its-Remarkable-Run
  23. Due to the fact that, less than 48 hours before kickoff, no photo has been posted on the only website that gives a flip about this team I would say the secret is being kept pretty well.
  24. I see 4 ranked opponents, 3 of whom were ranked in the top 3 (yet to be seen where Georgia ends up), and a national champion. And concerning the other teams listed (not including this year) I see this: 2011 FIU: 9-3 bowl team Alabama: National Champion Tulsa: 8-5 bowl team ULL: 9-4 bowl team Ark State: 10-3 bowl team Troy: 3-9 crap team 2012 LSU: 10-3 bowl team K-State: 11-2 BCS bowl team FAU: 3-9 crap team Houston: 5-7 MTSU: 8-4 ULM: 8-5 bowl team WKU: 7-6 bowl team
