Not technically athletic scholarships per say, however they do have slightly different recruiting practices for athletes than for general student populations. But yes all Cadets of any academy are going to have essentially full ride scholarships.

We are burying the lead here... this is exactly what so many have been clamoring for for so many years! the school and the city collaborating should be making this board jump for joy, not bitch about the law school or lack there of. We all know that it is going to take more than one year of winning and more than one year of this project to achieve what we know the potential of this place to be, but damn it, we have to strike somewhere and finally we have a hot iron! why pick nits about what some dude in Chicago says about our School? What difference does it make if small school = unknown or if small school = not Big 5 conference? Compared to the big schools out there, athletically speaking, we are a small school. That doesn't change our potential, passion or how talented our alums are, it will just take time for others out there to recognize it.

He is a guy who hates his job but loves his paycheck. If another paycheck comes along he throws up the dueces... if nit he will remain there as long as he gets paid to be a failure of a head coach... to be fair though, football coaches feed off the crowd, eg coach Mac begging us to fill the stands, it has to be very hard for JJ to feel good about taking all that money when 17 people are in the stands. That's a dichotomy of money vs his value there if you ask me.

Having studs, and nothing but studs it seems, left looking at us at this point is a step in the right direction for sure. I am glad that the coaching staff is tight lipped on all this. it will make signing day one hell of an event!

Love the fact that our coaches are not shying away from recruits just because the Big 12 is calling on them. We need to be in those recruits business too and this staff is the first to realize that in a long time. Glad that this staff takes UNT football and puts it up against the big boys with pride.

We are going to miss DT... great videos.

Figured that was going to be a given.... hope they don't forget to make a highlight video this year, its not like they are lacking material thanks to beyond the green and all the awesome football broadcasts and football plays and football bowl game wins and such... 100 year anniversary and the stand... maybe they don't have enough hard drive space to hold all that awesome

Rankings don't mean diddly... Coaches that can develop talent is the most important thing. Check out the 2008 class as an example. This years class looks much better on paper but some of those kids from 08, who weren't highly ranked, turned into studs that we would take again in an instant, Lance Dunbar for example. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/school/_/id/249/class/2008 Point is, rankings might make us feel better from a fans standpoint but these coaches are the real deal and they are bringing in real deal talent, wether we see stars by their names or not.

All in all I think that we showed this year that we can thrive in an underdog role so I say 3rd in a preview is fine with me. It will all be decided on the field anyway. AS far as UTSA goes, I can't stand Larry Coker. He is a thug and his players in Miami and now in SA take that attitude as well.
