  1. I'd bet that he will have to finish up his spring semester at Nacogdoches HS in order to qualify.
  2. This must be a kid who Bennett was familiar with down there in East Texas. Love this pickup!
  3. Thank you for the detailed update! We are thankful Jace chose UNT, and look forward to watching him in Green. Best of luck this year, your program is on a tremendous trend!
  4. 6 - 8 would be a great season with that schedule. The C-USA West division games are must wins, as is the game vs. NW State and at FIU.
  5. Absolutely, As will a vast majority of these kids. The scholarship #'s just won't add up.
  6. Absolutely. Bloesch had a massive opportunity on the west coast this offseason for a >$500K OL job, but chose to stay. This title helps with retaining him, and as Littrell said he is extremely valuable in the press box during games, often times calling plays.
  7. It's possible that both guys are suspended for the spring semester (they are still on scholarship this semester) and can "earn" their way back on the team for summer workouts.
  8. Not overly impressed with James watching him in the playoffs against DeSoto and Carroll.
  9. Outstanding news. Love this! Smith was a tremendous leader on some of our best teams in recent memory, surely he will be an asset for those young TE's (which is a very talented room by the way).
  10. Baker's leadership at UNT has been incredible. He has been outstanding, and his coaching hires are incredibly successful. He was a candidate in 2018 at Auburn, and is deservedly at Tennessee now. Let's give the guy the credit he deserves, and lets keep him at UNT as long as we can.
  11. This would be a great pickup for us to go with Shorter, Simpson, and Jackson. Need to have big development out of Brown and Thompson with 1 year under their belt. They both have tremendous ability. Then hopefully Johnson can get a grasp of the offense and quickly realize his potential out of HS as he and McMillian fall next in line.
  12. Good for him - wish him nothing but the best at Arkansas State playing for Coach Jones!
  13. Fired up about this hire. Bennett is energized, and has tons of knowledge in putting together defenses to guard against a variety of offenses. Love hearing respect for Littrell and what his plans are to create unity amongst the players and the staff. Exciting stuff, and it'll be fun to watch him leverage the talent that has been recruited, and put them into a position to succeed! From a personnel standpoint, it'll be fun to see how the 4 man DL comes together with some of the younger, talented and larger bodied D Lineman that we have recruited. Guys like McCrae, Pickett, T Johnson, Rausaw, Hutchins, Dotson, J Johnson, Vailea, etc. ought to be primed for tremendous development. Those guys are all going to be taller / heavier D Lineman than what we have had in recent times, and most had multiple P5 offers out of HS or JC. The Linebacker position shifts will be fun to watch. How the inside guys versus the edge / space guys are sorted will be interesting. KD Davis is an example of a kid who could be very effective out on the edge and in the flat. Tyreke Davis fits that mold too. The Murphy twins could end up inside with their bigger frames to go along with Nixon, Kroop, Wood, Jacobs, etc. Looking forward to seeing how this group comes together and gets us to the point where we can hold teams at or under 30ppg!
  14. haha yes, the Southlake and Austin Westlake games are around the same time on Saturday Jan 9th.
  15. Yes, he was a bust. Rambo seems like a sure thing though given the production in a very similar offensive scheme.
  16. Absolutely. Brian Kelly is one of the best in the business, and this mindset should be followed with our next DC hire.
