  1. Don't care for GL2Greatness' posts, but he's dead on with his assessment of Louisville not getting a sniff from the B12. Not long ago the scuttlebutt was Louisville and Cincinnati moving to the B12. It took me a while to quit laughing. Those are not premier programs. Sure they've had some success in CUSA and the Big East, but they are not top shelf programs that the B12 would be interested in.
  2. Has the NCAA had any input whatsoever regarding these crazy conference changes, traditional rivalries now in the toilet, and even cross-country conference games. Could it be the NCAA has no say-so in these conference matters because they are on the payroll of the power conferences and the TV networks that are driving these changes. There, I said. Conspiracy? Maybe. Money has a way of buying people off. Just sayin'.
  3. Absolutely. East Carolina and Southern Miss. are already standing in the Big East line, ready to "move up". And should that happen, CUSA would really be weakened. UTEP and Tulsa would leave CUSA for the MWC faster than a rat on a sinking ship.
  4. With the developing four, 16 team conferences, it really won't matter to UNT, CUSA, the BE, or others. We will not be one of the 64 "elite" teams that the networks are pushing to control. I'm convinced the Big 12 and SEC began that process last week.
  5. I doubt many of the old guard CUSA members are real happy about the changes.
  6. Not sure if these names have already been listed elsewhere, but I came across a couple of players from West-Orange Stark that UNT is showing interest. Jerquis Beasley, 6-2, 237# Off/Def Lineman Colin Janice, 5-10 Outside Linebacker (no weight listed) Both players are being recruited by UNT, ULL, McNeese & Lamar I'm not really impressed with these guys, unless UNT is recruiting them for their speed. Traditionally WOS, a 3A power in SE Texas, boasts tremendous speed at every position. Maybe the Beasley kid could be our next middle linebacker??
  7. That's what I was thinking. Probably should move the game to Reliant Stadium.
  8. And what's with four levels of All-conference? I always heard of 1st team and 2nd team. Is the conference trying not to hurt someone's feelings?
  9. We are in a 3-way tie for forth. Seems like Clemson and A $ M got into the mix at the last. Will they have a playoff for the 4th and 5th positions? Or will they let all three teams play in the final round? After tomorrow's final round, will the top three teams go to the Nationals?
  10. Think outside of the UNT box. Want to re-kindle the Matress Max relationship with UNT? GIVE Mac a block of 250-500 tickets to the game so he can give away the tickets to customers at a store promotion. Oh, and let McCarney handle this for the AD. Harry, those are some great ideas.
  11. I attended the Houston event you speak of, and yes, it was a very nice gathering. Not only did they talk about the stadium, they had several posters set up showing the proposed stadium. I even talked to RV about the proposed stadium. And yes, UNT needs to do more of these events in the major cities like Houston with the goal of doubling or tripling our core fan base of season ticket holders, Mean Green Club membership, and University of North Texas donors.

  13. I'd take him. Has pretty good feet running the ball. I'd also like to have that receiver he was throwing to in the first video.
  14. Happy Birthday Harry! Thanks for making GoMeanGreen.com possible. Hey Rob, remember those first tailgating roadtrips to Layafette many moons ago? Good food over there!
  15. This may give us a clue as to what is in store for the Lady Mean Green. http://www.sunbeltsports.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=4100&ATCLID=919698
  16. FS Southwest did a nice piece on the stadium expansion going on at TCU. That place is going to be a palace. And I'm not just talking about the stands and the field itself. I missed some of it, but it appears that many of the coaches offices, player lounges, team meeting auditorium, etc., are inside the stadium itself. The player's locker room is something like 8,000 sq feet. Oh, and the mentioned the "big donor" suites. These must be mini palaces and are for several donors of $15 million+. Of which they had several. TCU will fit into the Big 12 nicely. If you get a chance to watch this piece, do so. It's an eye opener.
  17. Is our AD planning on putting up some billboards throughout the DFW area with this same announcement? Louisiana Tech is doing it. We need to make people aware of our move into CUSA.
  18. 1. baseball 2. 12,000+ football season ticket holders 3. Indoor football practice facility 4. 4,000 basketball season ticket holders 5. CUSA retracts utsa membership offer
  19. Maybe Vito can tell us when the "official invitation" will be, well, official. I would have thought the AD would have already announced an official press conference for this week. Why hasn't this happened?
  20. Outstanding post! We think alike on the subject of ut "one year of football history" sa.
