  1. Agree! Wasn't saying the food was great. Never eaten any of their food. As I recall, one of the first Rudy's I visited had Shell gasoline pumps. Outside of San Antonio.
  2. Buc-ee's is a gasoline pumping, pee break, snack re-supply, clean restroom traveling experience. Place is unbelievable. Whoever the person is who founded the "niche market" of really, really clean restrooms, and you can buy gas and all this other stuff too, is a genius.
  3. With Mitchell getting the invites to these high profile camps for the nation's top BB players, I wonder what effect this will have on the number of games UNT will have televised? Bet we get a bunch.
  4. Personally, I'm glad to see McCarney focus on offensive linemen. Hope he creates a rotation. I've always been critical of Dickey and Dodge not bringing in enough, quality linemen. Sure, they would sign 2-3 good ones each class, but on occasion we would have one drop from the program for whatever reason. Other programs bring in several big linemen each year. I know. I've watched them manhandle our DL on many occasions. And don't forget, none of these recruits have signed on the dotted line. I also think DMac needs to shift focus to DL, QB, and LB.
  5. This is a good kid. National Honor Society, Young Life, etc. http://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruiting/tx/wichita-falls/rider-high-school/harrison-sorge Also throws the shot put in track.
  6. No, but the Osborne Brothers could have been playing Rocky Top. You know, Rock Top Tennesseeeeee................................
  7. I listened to parts of the game while attending a bluegrass festival in McKinney.
  8. I haven't found an Aggie yet who is thrilled about not playing Texas each year and 100+ year old tradition going away.
  9. And look at the two "real" home games at fouts; Cal Poly Pomona and West Texas State. Now those are two games that must have gotten the students and locals excited.
  10. Is it possible for TV to change our fight song to "Malaguena"? Listen- Back in the late 1990's UNT played Texas A & M at Kyle Field and the Green Brigade played this song to almost a standing ovation. One of the best performances ever by the GB.
  11. TCU will be interesting indeed. They sold out their general admission tickets already. http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/05/16/3966119/full-house-move-to-big-12-renovated.html What happens when they end up middle of the pack or below?
  12. Here's an article on Rivals regarding early commits being good recruiters. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1381077
  13. "SMU and Houston get out of CUSA and get to rebuild the BE. They join forces with a power called Boise State and they will actually breathe some new life into that weak league. They get out of Texas and get to expose their program to the populated part of the nation." Agree almost all of your post, but I do take exception with SMU and Houston. I don't see people in the "hardcore" East getting excited about SMU and U of H coming to their stadiums. That's like UNT bringing in Texas Southern for a game.
  14. If true, Boise staying in the MWC could mean problems for CUSA. East Carolina to the BE? What about San Diego State following suit and staying in the MWC? So. Miss. follows?
  15. Isn’t this country great or what! As a Viet Nam Veteran, I can now go on-line an order me a “medal of choice” and add to my five “earned” medals received for my service in ‘Nam. Let’s see, a Silver Cross with 5 oak leaf clusters would be nice. Couple of bronze stars, two purple hearts, etc., would add nicely to my collection. And I can now tell people I won those awards and display them on my lapel if I want to! Wearing a Medal of Honor around my neck might be a stretch. (sarcasm intended) I know this is a freedom of speech issue, but I sure hope the lawmakers have enough sense to “tweak” the law just a tad. Where’s the common sense? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57462642/supreme-court-strikes-down-stolen-valor-law/
  16. My Sicilian background tells me that Chief Justice Roberts could have been on the take from the day Obama emphatically said that this was not a tax. Don't laugh, when you deal with Chicago politics, anything can happen.
  17. The 2012 Football Roster has been updated on Mean Green Sports. Includes the incoming freshmen. http://www.meangreensports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=1800&SPID=562&SPSID=9053
  18. Happy belated birthday SilverEagle!
  19. I agree with Wardly. I think UNT Law just got swallowed. It's a dead issue.
  20. I take it your finger is pointing at me since I started this thread. Not that I have to report to you are anyone else, but I'm a Club Level patron; have been since the AD started offering seating at that level. Also, a MG Club member for longer than I care to remember. So, don't come at me about donations. I've done my part.
  21. "Support Orr and the Mean Green by buying season tickets." Guess the inclusion of our 2012 football schedule in the ad was too much to ask. Such an outstanding schedule, you know.
  22. I'll just file this one under "Series of North Texas F..kups That Never End".
  23. Last I checked, I can still read. Of course I knew the link. But what does that have to do with selling UNT season tickets and filling Apogee?
  24. We give these magazines to how many recruits?
