  1. Inarguably the biggest tradition we have. Why do you hate children? (oh yeah, we're pretty good at the histrionic false dichotomy too.)
  2. What is particularly awesome about this is that it has rescued "Come after me. I'm a man. I'm 40!!!" from being nothing more than an internet meme. That and he is level-headed in his rebuttal. Impressive. Professional. Inspiring.
  3. Oh my gosh. It's just. So. Glorious. This bit. So bright. So shiny. I can't look away. . . .
  4. Pretty convenient that he was put on a 'ban' for a week, and then this happened. The perfect alibi. I'm guessing Lifer and Cerebus got a cut of the consulting fee.
  5. Let me tell you this, the older you do get the more rules they're gonna try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep livin' man, L-I-V-I-N.
  6. I know AM could have played better, and that MF showed some promise, but that seems a bit extreme. I mean, yes, you irrevocably determine who has the quicker release. But depth takes a shot in the process. Now, I would have had no problem doing this last year.
  7. I want to say thanks. But that was a huge blow to my nostalgia. Even the Corkscrew is gone. Que sera, sera.
  8. John Cale shut down the Argo, for those that were there then. Dark day. Freaking hilarious. But dark.
  9. I was aware. Was trying to help. I was hoping you would follow up with something like: "Litre is French for... give me my [*&^/] new AD announcement before I break VOUS [*&^/'] LIP!" :)
  10. This is your brain: This is your brain during your midlife crisis: This is your brain during your midlife crisis posting on a sports-themed college message board 10 times a day because even if the world doesn't want saving dammit, it would be a moral failure on your part not to arrogate your wisdom to the masses via the most readily accessible means possible. WHY THE HELL WON'T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME????????? (note: today's music sucks compared to when I was young and in my prime.)
  11. Yeah, I can see that. I gave you a list of bands similar to the ones you listed, which had a Euro Opera-Metal vibe. Therion takes the whole Opera aspect of it pretty far. In fact, they've performed with the Swedish National Opera. Given that, you might want to skip Nightwish. Though, for my money, just go to the end of the list and hit up Symphony X. No nonsense, straight-forward American Power Shred Metal. Basically, I figure they were in some Music Theory class together one day, and the professor was explaining the complexities of Bach's composition, and one of them said "I can do that on a guitar."
  12. If you like those, try these on for size: Ayreon: http://www.arjenlucassen.com/content/arjens-projects/ayreon/ Therion: http://therion.se/ Explorer's Club: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explorers_Club_(band) Gamma Ray: http://www.gammaray.org/ (note: They've gone through a LOT of line-up changes and styles over the years; not all albums are similar to others) Kamelot: http://www.kamelot.com/site/ Nightwish: http://nightwish.com/en Sonata Arctica: http://www.sonataarctica.info/ Symphony X: http://www.symphonyx.com/site/
  13. Either that, or the absolutely greatest Freudian Slip in board history. http://grammarist.com/spelling/tenant-tenet/ Or both.
  14. He actually shot Santa Anna twice in the same battle.
  15. Don't mean to nitpick Vito, but concerning your list of Mean Green notables with the Steelers: I think Erric Pegram and the Superbowl XXX season at least deserves a mention. Not the same caliber as the rest of the list, but he was a major part of their success that season.
  16. My bank invalidated my mortgage, saying that our lack of DT recruiting signaled an over-reliance on specialty investments and a lack of reliable foundation planning. They let me stay in the house if I pay a monthly fee. So,I now rent and no longer own. Thanks RV!
  17. Well, there was that time I was going to a job interview, and Craig Helwig jumped out from behind some bushes, tackled me and stole my shoes. He tried passing them to Vic Trilli, who just looked confused. Then they drove off in a beat up Dodge that had a massive spoiler welded on the trunk. It didn't go very far, but man it looked good. Needless to say, I didn't get the job because I was barefoot. But Matt Simon was there and felt bad for me. He told me to go apply at Safeway. He had connections there. So it all worked out in the end
