  1. Reader's quote: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/
  2. They definitely still had men's tennis in '93 as well. But baseball as a team sport was long gone.
  3. Not to be overly nitpicky, but North Texas still had a men's soccer team, and a successful one at that, when I transferred in 1993.
  4. There was some talk during the recent coaching search of her coming to North Texas. Well, it looks like she may not be done playing yet. http://sports.espn.go.com/wnba/news/story?id=3503012
  5. Sure it is. He's putting himself and the program out on a limb. But if people aren't willing to put themselves out on a limb for a new stadium, we will not get one.
  6. Congratulations--savor every moment of it!
  7. Riley may be in for culture shock.
  8. Yes, but does he know that the games are broadcast on the Word FM?
  9. Well said. Why are you not employed as a stadium fundraiser?
  10. So it seems all our ducks are in a row. But the biggest duck--big money--is nowhere in sight. EDIT: At least, it's nowhere in my sight. I really, really hope that things are going on behind closed doors to line up that final duck.
  11. I don't think anybody knows too much about Padron, but SLC QBs have a pretty good track record. It's a good early pickup for SMU if for no other reason than it opens the door for further SLC recruiting.
  12. Should this be treated as a special "hate crime" case? No. In effect, all murders are hate crimes. And when you look at how far these subhumans went beyond murder, does it really matter whether they were racially motivated or otherwise? I don't care what the motivation was for those men who dragged James Byrd (I think that was his name) behind their truck, they deserved to hang. Yet, it is extremely inconsistent to prosecute white on black crime as a "hate crime" when even remotely racially motivated, and not vice versa.
  13. I doubt it. Even if he thought we were worthy, I think he'd rather fly under the radar.
  14. That is absolutely disgusting. No court in this country will hand out the sentence that these scum deserve. And I don't think anyone could argue successfully against Ms. Malkin's comments. There certainly would be public outrage about this story if the press would cover it.
  15. If we can win at least one of the first four games going into conference play, we'll have decent momentum. It's tough to get much momentum in the offseason.
  16. Thanks for the responses, Adler and untphd.
  17. Add Nate Jenkins to the 2-deep. His 330 lbs will bring that average up.
  18. He may still be a student at North Texas. He walked on to play for us, and may have left football behind. I don't know whether that's the case, but I doubt he had scholarship offers coming out his ears.
  19. Pardon my ignorance, but what was that?
  20. That is shameful. It reminds me of these dopeheads who claim to be straightening out, so I help them to get a job--the next thing you know, they're "hurt" and seeking compensation.
