  1. Yep, that was an ESPN+ game. I was in the pressbox working stats for that one. It was really difficult to not cheer on that play!
  2. Anyone else holding out for the roster files before starting their dynasty?
  3. I would agree with that. In fact, I just defeated the Red Wolves 56-17 at Fouts a few minutes ago.
  4. Nice. I will be getting a 360 copy myself. Haven't bought NCAA Football since the 06 season. I was holding out in the hopes that EA would one day honor my request and allow you to re-organize the conferences in dynasty mode. I may have to once again settle for winning 3 straight national titles and taking Baylor's spot in the Big 12 South.
  5. I think WKU's problem is that they didn't act quickly on buying the materials. I met an engineer from Jerry-World the other day and he told me that they have been keeping the project close to budget simply because they purchased ALL of the building materials up-front in 2006-early 2007. Apparently, the raw material costs have gone up so much, that the new stadium would be nearly 3 times the current cost if they were buying the materials today.
  6. Sure beats that rickety old tower they used to have out there. That was a scary climb!
  7. Guys, don't bash NTTV. For those of us that put a lot of work into the station while we were there, it has paid off in the form of finding employment. I picked up a lot of things that I would have otherwise not learned in a classroom. In regards to WKU, many of you may not know it, but last year WYKU-TV (PBS) in Bowling Green hired a SAT truck to come to Denton and send our feed back to viewers in that area. At the time, Producers at their station had been observing NTTV and deemed the production quality high enough to air. That was the first time that NTTV had content broadcast outside of Denton. WYKU came back for a football game this past fall and I believe they will be here again for the game on thrusday. HMNSHLD can verify that, however. Hopefully, this will be another time that Bowling Green viewers will watch their beloved Hilltoppers fall to the Mean Green!
  8. This post reminded me that just the other day, I was thinking about how cool it'd be to make some Mean Green graphics up for a Guitar Hero III controller.
  9. I was pretty sure I saw a helmet fly off and hit a coach or a trainer in the head. Even Rick V was down there in the fray trying to calm things down.
  10. Sorry, I didn't get a chance to post this earlier folks, but Johnny was featured on the show tonight. If you missed it, the replay will air tonight around 11:30pm, just after the News 8 replay. He's on in the last segment on the program. Enjoy.
  11. For those of you that didn't get a chance to hear George this morning, the postcast has been posted here: http://cumuluspodcasting.com/media/KTCK/KT..._1-Muse-UNT.mp3
  12. HA! I wish! When I was there we had no way of getting a signal back to the station, on top the shortage of man power and equipment. There was the whole issue of not having the broadcast rights to the games and that athletics felt that we'd be encouraging people to sit at home or in bars instead of coming to the game. However, despite that, nearly all the home basketball games over the past years have been aired live on NTTV.
  13. I just hope that thing doesn't blow away when the next hurricane comes through.
  14. I would say this it is difficult to disect the correct color from these photos because of the lighting situation in the VB gym. When you have halogen lights or metal halide systems, they do some wonky things to the color spectrum. This not as noticable to the naked eye when you are there in person, but it is more apparent in photographs and video. I would believe that if you looked at the same uniforms outside, in the daylight, they would look more like the school's kelly green.
  15. I got the same perplexed look on my face that I had when I first saw the SMU advertisement. Fortunately, you spelled it out for me.
  16. I'm in Richardson, is anyone going to Fox and the Hound here, Wizard's, or anywhere else?
  17. Miner, check the highlight reel from that week's episode of North Texas Sports Zone, the play is in there.
  18. KNTU is run by the Radio, TV, and Film department. Granted, it does give students a chance to be Disc Jockeys or read news stories on the air, but when it comes to sports they are holding kids back and knocking them down. Prime example is how The Green Guys (weekly, 3 hour, student sports-talk show) got reduced to a 30-minute, PRE-pre-game show; or how Denton ISD and Krum basketball dissappeared off the airways. Then there was the Soccer game against SMU in the NCAA tournament a few years back when our intreped young sportscasters drove all the way down to College Station to find out that they would not be calling the game on air because it wasn't relevant. I'm not saying they should get rid of Jazz, because we DO have a very good and prominent music school here and it deserves to be showcased. My point is that if they're going to have a radio station on campus as an extra-curricular lab they shouldn't be discouraging people from being able to participate.
  19. I don't usually defend KNTU, however they have been without a Chief Engineer since March. If such a task was left in the hands of student volunteers then it is no surprise that they had trouble getting it to work. Also, there is little support from the "professionals" when it comes to sports programming at KNTU. The management over there just doesn't give a flying f@*% about sports. They only reason they air games is becuase they need the money from athletics. Okay, enough of that, now I'm wound up about K-NUT radio again!
  20. I wish I had cable, so I will likely wander down to the local sports bar.
  21. I remember seeing something like that at a Rangers game several years ago. The girl dumped her beer on the guy's head and stormed out. Apparently some guys don't realize how unromantic it is to pop the question in a sporting venue, in an inebriated state, in front of 40,000 strangers.
  22. You forgot Bears. They are the biggest threat to America.
  23. You sir, deserve an honorary degree in Badassery!
