  1. Tulane has kept our run game to nothing. Passing has had some hiccups but they've been held in check too. It's mainly their defense.
  2. As it should, but the offenses we've faced have also got weaker.
  3. I've been looking at stats too, but more focused on our opponents. Like most of us know, the second half will be much tougher than the first on both sides of the ball. These are the our opponents team stats Scoring Defense/Total Defense and Scoring Offense/Total Offense. I know these can be swayed/skewed by different things like style of play (e.g. Navy), but 6 games is a pretty good picture of what a team is. Our offense will be tested more than it was in the first half, but not near as much as the defense will. These numbers make me think it will tougher than I first thought. On the bright side, I know UTSA has been without Harris for a stretch, but they are easily the best chance at a win in these next four games and only an SMU upset would make me happier. This second half of the season will give us a better idea of where we are as a team.
  4. I won't. That team could move the ball one way...running it. And by the two times you mentioned, everyone in the stadium knew it. All 600 of us. 😉
  5. I'm not going to talk bad about the defense, but I'm not giving them credit either. That was one of the worse quarterbacks I've seen play college ball. I give them more credit for last week's game. I'll take the win though....might be the last one we see for a long time.
  6. This is great news! I was looking for some yesterday because I assumed the athletic department would miss the ball on this. This year's "game activities" have been improved, with the concerts, drone show and to an extent, the glasses. Golf clap for the whomever is in charge of this. Now, if we could get them to stop douchebaging up the North Texas chant I'll be almost content. 🙂
  7. What I'm looking to change is this... FIRST SECOND CAL 21-33 0-25 FIU 20-17 19-29 LA TECH 23-14 17-23 ACU 31-17 14-14 TOTAL 95-81 50-91 In every game we've outscored our opponent in the first half (except Cal) and been outscored in the second half (except ACU, and that was a tie). Also, in every game we've scored less in the second half than the first half and almost given up more points in the second half than we have the first half. This could be a variety of things, but what it looks like is that the other teams are going in a halftime and making adjustments that are better than our adjustment, basically out coaching us at halftime and in the second half. I would like to see us get better in the third and fourth quarters instead of getting worse.
  8. This. The difference in attendance from a 11AM game to a 6 PM game will be negligible. The exposure, regardless if nation wide or just our region and their's would be far greater than the 2-4k difference in butts in the seats. And who do you think this effects more, the student attendance or the alumni attendance? Students should at the least want to be in the stands to possibly be seen on "national" TV. Tailgaters who were planning on tailgating a 6pm game will most likely still tailgate at 11am.
  9. I'd reconsider your nickname mor him...unless you find him attractive. 😉
  10. I mean their crowd wasn't bad. It was pretty good for a visiting team. Did some else say they would travel like Tech?
  11. Yeah, I don't remember them not being on the field in the first quarter and they for sure played the first series. However, I only watched until all the starters came into the game and that was the first series of the second quarter. Wood actually came in the last play or second to last play of the first quarter but that was because Wesloski got banged up. It's possible that players were suspended later in the game, but I've never heard of suspensions coming in the middle of a game. To me that's getting benched, but I guess it could be a thing. Lee and Addaway also didn't play the first couple of series, but I couldn't tell if that was a personnel/package decision or not.
  12. Kind of, but I had to call them out to give them credit.
  13. Ah. That makes it a little better, but only if you're in on the joke.
  14. So, because the suspension news was new to me and Morris wasn't specific on who were the starters suspended for the FIU game I went back to watch the beginning of that game to see who they were. The only starters who missed more than 2 series that game were Adeyi and Burns on offense and Wood on defense. These three sat out the first quarter and I'm assuming are some of the ones mentioned. I'm not doing this to call them out, but because the coaches held them accountable and they accepted accountability. I say this because the next game Adeyi has 19 carries for 148 yards and 2 TDs (leading rusher), Burns has 11 catches for 134 yards (leading receiver) and Wood has 9 tackles (leading tackler and 1 pass deflection. So while it's alarming to see three veteran leaders of the team not doing what they should, I was glad to see they didn't sulk about it. They used it as motivation. Also, while some of my opinions about Morris and the staff still stand, I've grown to like him as a person and the way he runs a team. Side note, unless some players were only held out for 2 series I can't figure out what other starters were held out. He mentioned MLB and a corner and Brown and both Texada and Davis started.
