  1. For now, I'm yet again glad that I live in Sugar Land / Fort Bend county. I just hope this insanity doesn't spread to the suburban governments.
  2. In honor of the guys behind the basket at the UALR game, the "perfect blend of creepiness and awesomeness" (thanks, Green Lantern), I bring you "Army of Lovers", complete with Beavis & Butthead comments: p_O30-fIcIA
  3. "Where's the money, Lebowski?" Funny you should use the term logjamming - foxnews.com currently has the following headline: $1 Trillion Full-Court Press To Break Credit Logjam
  4. Cajunman2 posted ULL's schedule: http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=344670 - we play there on 10/10 - easy road trip from Houston!
  5. Long road home High school athletes often hear from big-name colleges from out of state. For some who leave, it’s not what they expect http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headli...so/6243316.html
  6. Gotta do something with "Katrina & The Waves" - starting with having the band play "Walking on Sunshine"... Wikipedia - Katrina and the Waves
  7. For those who get HDNet Movies - Necessary Roughness in HD! starts at 9:45 CST - that's less than 10 minutes from now!
  8. well... I was just expanding on what GBD posted; sorry if I wasn't imaginative enough. How about: And our drum line blows every one else's off the field! don't quite know what you're getting at here...

  10. At this time last year, it looked like Mendoza would be staying on.
  11. at the very end of the broadcast, they said the attendance was 2800. Did we borrow SMU's attendance counters?
  12. I guess nobody feels like chatting today...
  13. I'm thinking about it; I won't know if I can take the time off until tomorrow. Anyone else from Sugar Land or SW Houston going? The last time I tried to head north on I-45 was the Friday of Homecoming weekend. I left Sugar Land at 2:15 and didn't get to Huntsville until around 5:00. Needless to say, I didn't make it to Denton in time for the bonfire. I took the Hardy Toll Road, and that was OK, but the traffic on I-45 from the Woodlands through Conroe took forever. It was still a bit slow past Conroe until after Huntsville. Who knows how long it might take during rush hour?
  14. He looks like he should be tossing pizza dough at an old-fashioned pizzeria! Just needs to grow the mustache out some...
  15. My DISH network guide shows the game on FSSW down here in the Houston area! Anyone for a game-watching party, or is everyone just going to watch at home? As far as the game at SHSU on Thursday, I don't know if it would be possible to get there on time from where I am. The traffic through the Woodlands and Conroe is horrendous.
  16. How many of these not-quite-home games will it take before people start complaining? - Students who don't have the time and/or money to go to a game away from campus - Alumni who have to shell out more for tickets and hotel expenses, and come to the games to relive their campus experience - Local merchants who lose out on game day revenue
  17. I received the e-mail as well. I had signed up to receive updates (here: meangreensports.com: A New Home for Mean Green Football) in September I think, and this is the first one I've received. I guess they don't have any specific news yet, but wanted to let us know that things are in progress. And, to let those who didn't make it to Homecoming know that the the student vote passed. BTW, Chris Cannon, Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts, is expected to attend the Houston Meet & Greet tomorrow night. Hopefully he can give us some news!
  18. I know! Just having fun! Earthquakes are one reason I don't live in California - or New Madrid, MO.
