  1. I agree. The way to get rid of it is to make it SEEM popular. Then it won't be seen as "alternative".
  2. Too bad. You missed out on the Fredericksburg Battlin' Billies (and their arch-rival Kerrville Tivy Antlers) - Cameron Yoe Yoemen (I'm guessing the spelling is intentional) - Muleshoe Mules (unsure if they're Groovy or not) - Hutto Hippos - Progreso Red Ants - Springtown Porcupines - Graham and FW North Side Steers (the agriculturally-challenged will need to do some research on what makes a bull become a steer). - Brazosport Exporters ( the only HS team that cares about NAFTA) - Robstown Cottonpickers
  3. How about O'Neal sealing the Lakers' loss by making a free throw that he was TRYING TO INTENTIONALLY MISS ! Priceless !
  4. Am I reading this right that you will be hosting 2 tournaments (Betlin and Wells Fargo) ? Are you doing both at North Lakes ?
  5. Why not ? If I had to pick a favorite classical composer, it would probably be Mendelssohn.
  6. Sort of like a musical Kevin Bacon Game ? Maybe you could find the fewest links from Rob Zombie to Enya, something like that. Debbie Gibson to Ministry. As for the great guitarists, I am eternally grateful to an old acquantance from days gone by that turned me on to an artist named Steve Morse. I then followed his career backwards into the Dixie Dregs days as well as his solo efforts later. Try to downlaod the song "Tumeni Notes" from 'High Tension Wires' CD. Be sure to pick your jaw up of the floor after listening. Eric Johnson is another favorite.

  8. I stayed there for a few days last spring, very nice to know the story behind it. It's quite snowy there in winter. I was only there a few days, I spent most of my non-Afghanistan time at a place in Uzbekistan called Karshi-Khanabad, or K-2 for short.
  9. How'd their budget get PUFfed up that high ?
  10. I will say from experience that generic toiletries such a soap, deodorant, shampoo, razor, etc. are readily available, the Red Cross ships over palletloads of that stuff. Good things would be gourmet coffees (already ground), skin-so-soft, ( I took that with me, and was offered almost kingly ransoms for it after hot weather - and bugs - set in by May. Since I only had the one bottle, I kept it) "The Personal Touch" kind of things are most appreciated. They also have plenty of access to tobacco products. Sunscreen is a good thing to have over there.
  11. #1 scenario I've heard rattled about has him changing his appearance to make us think it's not him (a double), thus we think we got him and back off a bit. Meanwhile, he's laying low.
  12. Would a better name for this thread/topic be " T T leaking " ?
  13. What about that huge grassy field just south of the Radisson ? Plenty of room.....you could even invite the surrounding neighborhood...
  14. A hospital near the Golf Course will do nothing but bring sick and bleeding people near Denia Park. Somebody Outta Do Something !!!
  15. Spanish Rice covered with Red Chile Stew...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... What goes on YOUR 1st platefull at Pancho's ?
  16. Hey..gotta like a gal that puts forth an effort...
  17. Red and Pewter won't be so bad. Emmitt Smith and Tampa Bay seem to be a perfect match right now.
  18. I've always viewed our bailout of France in WW II as payback for the American Revolutionary War which it's doubtful we'd have won (or at least not as easily) without the help of the French. Besides, if it weren't for the French, what would you eat with your hamburger ?
  19. Do you know which field at North Lakes you'll be using yet ? I'm guessing 5 or 6; they play VERY differently according to weather/wind direction. Have y'all done that research yet ? If not, let me know and I'll be glad to help if I can. I've umpired many ASA/UIL fast-pitch games on those 2 fields. Best of luck, and I'm loking forward to seeing y'all in action

  21. You can only go to the Corvette museum so many times, I suppose It's a must-see while traveling through...right on the Interstate. The town of Bowling Green and WKU itself didn't appear to be all that bad, sorta reminded me of a smaller Champaign-Urbana circa mid-late 80's.
