  1. It was. Seemed like every Sunday Sportscenter Plays-of-the-week back in the day had him grabbing a ball on the warning track and throwing to Home or 3B on-the-fly. Roberto Clemente was probably his only peer in that aspect of the game. Barfield didn't get big assist numbers because absolutely no one dared run on him.
  2. How true. It's a big reflection on what parenting has become in this country.
  3. Famous for opening beer bottles with his eye socket. I don't even wanna know how. Jesse Barfield (bonus point if you remember his best-in-baseball (maybe all-time) skill)
  4. Shown the Money continuing with fictional Pro athletes... Crash Davis
  5. Are you saying that Pearl Harbor didn't actually happen ? I watched (most of) the series in 2002 while in Afghanistan, one of the guys I was with had his wife taping the episodes and sending them to him. Whenever he got a new tape, we'd all gather around and watch. And try to critique the hell out of it, of course, but being able to do so was rare.
  6. Pioneer.....in several ways let's try my all-time favorite Ranger Larry Parrish
  7. In case you haven't heard, Kariya busted his ankle somehow in the Avs' game today.
  8. What do you get when you cross steroids with obesity ? Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson
  9. Woo - Hoo !! Someone to play "obscure Rangers shortstops" with me ! Continuing with that theme, Wayne Tolleson
  10. Beeeeg Boy. Hit the 1st homer I ever saw at a Rangers game as a kid. Joe Carter
  11. Wise of USM to wait until after Spring Break to bring him in.
  12. "third" (behind Michael Downs and Darren Woodson) Warren Cromartie
