  1. Tomorrow could be a big day Athletes enter the portal by informing their current school of their desire to transfer; the school then has two business days to enter the athletes' name in the database.
  2. Either of these guys and bring Ra'Shaad Samples in as your Co-OC (With Patrick Cobbs) and see how many good HS players and transfers we start getting.
  3. Nice transfer portal writeup https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34967085/college-football-new-transfer-portal-windows-explained
  4. I believe it's up to the school. I found this example - Indiana quarterback Jack Tuttle announced in October that he planned to enter the portal, but he ended up starting for the Hoosiers against Penn State on Nov. 5.
  5. IMO not a good comparison. Things were a lot different (and not on the good side) when they hired TD. He was allowed to bring in HS coaches who were nowhere near ready to coach in college.
  6. Graham Harrell and Emmett Jones give you great connections to the Texas High Schools - Maybe it doesn't help as much when the players are coming out of HS, but could make a difference in transfers. Both would also probably be able to attract QBs. K.C. Keeler gives you a proven winner. He's not getting support in their transition.
  7. Slow down just a bit. For the most part our impact in the Portal will not come in the opening days. Continue to evaluate players who enter and be ready in a few weeks.
  8. Tulsa fans when their current coach was fired and after the announcement
  9. **Risk of entering the portal** Most FBS (ALL P5s) are obligated by Conference rules to keep a player they have signed for his full 4 years (in other words, cannot pull scholarships) BUT if a player puts his name in the Portal they "can" let him return, but are not obligated to. So when a lot of these players enter and no one picks them up, they are left without NCAA: 40 percent of scholarship FBS players do not find scholarships on the other side of the transfer portal - Only 59 percent of scholarship transfers found scholarships at another FBS school - Only 36 percent of FCS transfers find a Division I school willing to take them https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-transfer-portal-data
  10. Nice write up @Brett Vito. I guessing some will dislike it since you didn't trash Seth on his way out. What's done is done. Time to move forward and have faith that Neil will make the right hires
  11. Seems a lot of people want the players to have it both ways. We keep hearing with NIL and the Transfer Portal when players make moves how this is a business. Well welcome to business in the real world young men. I really liked what Deion told his new players - (to paraphrase) changes have been made and more are coming. Be a part of it, or there's the Portal
  12. We can all speculate why this happened the way it did. Maybe in their meeting Seth said extend me now or let me go ?? Players needs their time to let their emotions settled and then make decisions that are best for Themselves.
  13. For those who might not be aware, Dirk Koetter is their interim OC. He stepped in after the UTEP loss to help them for the rest of the year
  14. Compared to the facilities and fan support in Huntsville he would probably be ecstatic here
  15. In his defense, back then DBs were allowed to mug receivers and hardly ever got penalties
  16. Your correct, I did miss that, but you know what a lot of students do use athletic success in their consideration.
  17. Not the same issue. We're not talking about attending school but rather after you graduate what obligation do you have to keep support their athletic teams? As most move on their demands on their time become more spread thin. Supporting you schools athletic t e ams becomes one of many options. As clearly evident by the lack of alumni support UNT has historically done a very poor job keeping alumnus engaged.
