Who will be the next UNT Head Football Coach?
El Paso Eagle replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
So you did your job? Thanks. You bring up some good points, but the way you present them, along with the way you reply to those who differ from you makes you seem like a person with a hidden agenda. We all have opinions and guesses. No need to act like your opinion is superior to others. -
Hopefully this is his wakeup call.

Interesting, if true. Wren was the one pushing to keep Seth? -

The one I usually check is the 247 Transfer tracking, but it is for FBS schools. THis one shows FCS schools -

At the same time, you can completely rebuild your team (FBS players who transferred to Abilene Christian this past season) -
Came across a site showing FCS schools. The number of schools showing double-digit entries is crazy. Not sure how programs can keep rebuilding year after year. https://www.redshirtsports.xyz/2023-fcs-transfer-portal-tracker

Did reach out to someone who follows SFA. He commented that after last season, SFA had 8 coaches/staff members who were poached by other schools. -
He asked a really inappropriate question that upset them - What are you plans to upgrade your facilities?

My Mind is Made Up on the New Coach: Garrett Riley

He could still be putting his staff together (short drives back and forth), and as an added bonus, UNT gets mentioned quite a bit on ESPN- 30 replies

The issue might become his ego and does he hold himself accountable if things go wrong. He's "earned" this chance, but the reality of P5 and having success at JSU are very different.

Gabe Brooks/David Smoak Segment About UNT Job
El Paso Eagle replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
The challenge will be if hes not winning like he did at Jackson. The talent level at Jackson between their opponents was tremendous and even though he could get the one of the best recruiting class in the nation it won't be near that big to his opponents in the PAC 12. Combine that with the realization that his HBCU talk was really only about how he could benefit and he also has a way of making back-handed complements/comments that piss off a lot of people there are going to be those who like him and those who don't. -

I'm guessing you got the standings from ESPN? They are not correct. The Sam Houston games did not count as conference games. Both teams were 3-1 in "conference" and SFA beat ACU. -

The WAC had two teams back out of their scheduled moves (Lamar and UIW) so they had to scramble. You compete against who is there. Same as those who were happy with the CUSA changes due to teams leaving that allowed a format change. -

Couple of things. Sam Houston did have talent this year. But coach Keeler made a very smart move in red shirting players in a unique way. Knowing they could play in 4 games he kept players out in different combinations with the exception of the game against SFA. Also, SFA did win the WAC football championship this year. -
Which Staff Members do you hope stay?

I believe that is why Morris left UIW to take the OC roles at Washington State; felt it gave him a better chance in the long-run for a good FBS job -

I have a feeling Neal and company did not make a spur of the moment decision. Let the process work out.
