    When a player decides to “test the portal,” is their scholarship still available to them at the previous school if they decide to go back? Or is that a coaches decision on whether or not to welcome them back?

    I mean, if we’re going to pluck staff from UT, can Patterson come be our DC? 😂 Seriously impressed with this hire though!

    This is actually not a bad idea. Catch players at their second collegiate stops and they have to sit out a year if they decide to leave you too. That alone will probably keep most of them from leaving your program. Make a name for developing the talent and this is a real viable recruiting strategy.

    Seeing these posts and stuff in here, this was my thought: How many of these kids are being told to reopen their recruiting and start looking elsewhere? Thanks for confirming that this is happening. Perhaps not true for all, but at least some. It's not like the university has anything to gain by making a tweet or putting out a press release that an offer is no longer valid under new leadership. So let the kids save a little face and do it themselves.

    Sounds like Head Coaching 101. Has anyone ever had a head coach that didn’t tout the potential when taking over? This shouldn’t be a headline. 🙄

    I still want to bring back the dancing scoreboard camera guy. Pay that man! 😂 But yes, all the media stuff was really fun too. Hope we start winning again and bring it all back too.

    What if….. we had fired Seth last year… then hired Morris last year… then Ward would have transferred to UNT last year… Oh well, missed opportunities. But excited to see what Morris can do with one of our QBs on the roster. I believe we have talent here that he can work with already. A high profile transfer would be nice, but we’ve already got some transfers in that are ready to learn and grow.

    I’ve met Patrick a few times. Actually had a golf class with him during the summer when we were undergrads. Real nice guy. But let me tell you, I would never call him “Patty” to his face.

    It’s still live so hard to find where it starts. But it’s about 45 mins in.

    The last guy we hired that played for Saskatchewan and came to us from Washington State worked out pretty well for us. I hope this one does too.
