  1. **************************************************************************** Lets see DeLoach has been here less than one year...only one recruiting season....all NT did on defensive in 09 vs 08 is reduced scoring of the opponents from 505 yds in 08 before he came down to 387 yds -09 ............REDUCING SCORING BY 151 POINTS IN THE 11 GAMES SO FAR. TO ME THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT. Don't blame DeLoach, he would be even better if he had a one or two more recruiting classes.
  2. give us his email address as well as that of the AD
  3. give us an email address also one for our athletic director
  4. 2 fumbles lost is Dodge's fault, 7 penalties for 50 yds is Dodge's fault, blocked point after and field goal blocked...is Dodge's fault...Hey I thought Todd Dodge was on the sideline.....not on the field....yeh I know everything that goes wrong is his fault.
  5. You need to go back and read the post by a players father on this board...Micah Mosleys dad says otherwise....

Improvement NT increased scoring 53 points Improvement NT held opponents to 118 fewer points Improvements NT w 2 vs 1 *****************************************************In effect NT improved 171 points difference..To me this is significant................... Yes I would like to see more wins...but realize against this year in the Ohio game we lost in double overtime and had td's dropped in the end zone which could have won the game and in at least one other game one play would have resulted in a win instead of a loss. ArkSt L 28-33 ?
  7. I would believe NT would have a lot of prospects for this game since it's our last home game. Please keep on the lookout for possible recruits at the game and pm me with any ID you can make. Thanks...OldTimer
  8. I saw an article in the FW Star Tele recently about the ground breaking ceremony this Saturday...couldn't locate it to post a link. Evidently Mean Joe Green and other former FB players will be present, the first 500 there get some kind of grandbreaking handout.
  9. NO WAY do I want someone back who critized our school on public Radio, critized our facilities on public radio , critized gmg members to their face just after our group had prepared food for the players, who had only 3 winning seasons in the 9 years he was here, had a 41 win and 65 losses in 9 years, who had coaches fighting each in their dressing room and another coach going into the stands in response to a fans comments, who had 8 wins in his first 3 years and 4 wins in his last 3 season.
  10. I thought I read in the paper that the NT student board rejected to keep this from happening.
  11. If you haven't been there for a UT Arlington game in Arlington some tips. The basketball court is located on the stage of the auditorium...there is a orchester pit between the court and the auditiance seating. 2 or 3 steps off the court and the players will step into this pit. The end of each end of the playing area ...a few steps past the goal post is the brick wall to run into. If you get there early ask for tickets to sit behind the benches on the stage...you can be within 3/4 feet of the players bench. When I was teaching at UT Arlington John McDowell, I and some others would get there early to prevent UT Arlington fans from siting behind the NT bench. I am not joking I have seen their fans lean over the railing and hold out a dead chicken dripping blood on our players, or bringing a garbage can lid and a car jack handle banging it OVER THE HEADS OF OUR PLAYERS. I admit this was a long time ago and it may not be that way now but I would believe the seating and court info is the same.
  12. Another poster trying to hijack this thread.
  13. It's going to be a very long year for womens BB...losing to TWU and now SFA.
  14. The last away game the NT web site ran an ongoing blog starting 15 minutes before the game. Does anyone know if they will do it tonight? I can't get the 2 radio stations unless I sit in the car and listen on the car radio.
  15. We need to remember that this is DeLoach's first year back....one recruiting season and now in his 2nd recruiting season...he had no say over the earlier signed players in year past. I see definate inprovement over last year but believe more is needed.

  18. Women's Basketball Signs Two Of The Top Local Guards Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 11/12/2009 Courtesy: Rick Yeatts DENTON, Tex. - North Texas women's basketball head coach Shanice Stephens has inked two players to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period today. Stephens added two sharpshooting guards in Laura McCoy from Flower Mound, and Ash'Lynne Evans from Everman. "The addition of players of this caliber is another step towards this programs' goal of retaining local talent and becoming a nationally prominent program," said Stephens. "I'm excited and proud about bringing Laura and Ash'Lynne into our Mean Green family." McCoy, a 5-7 point guard at Flower Mound High School, was the District 6-5A Offensive Player of the Year last season. She averaged 14.9 points a game and hit 55 3-pointers last season. Along the way McCoy dished out 3.9 assists per contest and had 129 for the season. She enters her senior season needing just 100 points and 30 assists to become the school's all-time leader in both categories. "Laura is a hard working, complete point guard," said Stephens. "She wants the ball in her hands and guides the team with leadership skills far beyond her years. She is a very feisty and aggressive defender who has a very high IQ for the game. Laura is a phenomenal, quick-release shooter who may be able to convert to a combo guard because of skills she has. Laura just "gets it" and for that she will invaluable in our building efforts." Last season McCoy was the MVP of the Flower Mound As a sophomore McCoy knocked down 41 3-pointers and scored 11 points a game and was a first-team all-district player. Evans, a 6-1 guard from Everman High School, was a first-team District 8-4A player last season as she poured in 13.4 points a game. Evans also was a threat from deep as she connected on 27 3-pointers last season. "Ash'Lynne is a 6'1 guard/forward who is a incredible rebounder," said Stephens. "She has the attributes of being able to rebound and immediately push the ball for a highly effective transition game. She has a beautiful shooting touch around the basket and is capable of making an immediate impact on the team. Ash'Lynne is a very exciting player to watch perform on the court."
