This is not footbal but involves a NT Sr. FB player...The UNT Athletic web site had an article on the track team at a TCU invitational track meet. Brock competed for his first time in an track meet finished 2nd in the men's discus throw with a heave of 171.07...This makes him reginally qualified to advance. This first throw ranks him in fourth place all time I gather in NT track records.

We still don't have in place our two DT and DE we signed...Atkinsen will likely be the starter at NT and John Weber at DE plus the HS DT we signed. They should make a significant improvement in our DL/DE play.

This has more questions than answers at this time.

Stratford will be elgible to play next fall. He was enrolled at NT for the fall semester....participating in spring training...so he fall 08 and spring 09 is his year to sit out. Info from good sources.

I saw somewhere that almost the day Josh signed LOI with NT that he received an offer from one of the major California Colleges.

It will probably be the middle of the week before the spring training roster is finalized and available. NT is still receiving qualification approval on late player addition clearances. I do hear rumors we have a 350 lb OL walk on but don't get excited about him.

1. NT did something only one other team did this year...win at Denver 2. NT grabs Sun Belts 4th seed 3. NT will host 13th seeded Florida Atlanta...which should be a win and have 19 wins this year 4. NT wins, then plays 5th seeded Middle Tennessee or 12th seeded Arkansas...if we win this game we will have another 20 game season and another shot at the BIG TOURNAMENT 5. NT has a change to get 11 league wins for the first time...the most since joining the SB conference

It looks and sounds like our OL and DL, DE situation will be greatly improved over last year. I believe Riley could be great...but am concerned about a back up QB at this time. I think the RS WR and the JC WR transfers ....along with the OL improvements will restore our offense next year and the DL, DE and new coach,......plus a year of the new strength coach will combine for major improvements to our defense...and lead to a very good turn-a-around next year. We have the RB's, some complete passes and improved OL play should spark our running game on offense.

Walk on's for next year will normally get a ship for the spring semester following their enrollment... if they get one. They could grayshirt like Nick Leppo did this year at his expense for the fall semester...and ship for spring as one of our 22 of 09 schips.

Nick Leppo is an 09 signee...he grayshirted fall semester 08....But I too welcome this class.

The Rivals profile I originally pulled up showed him as a LB, now it shows him as a DE, Scout.com shows him as a LB, the DMN recruiting blog shows him as a DE , ESPN has him as a DE, TX FB mag and all district shows him as a DE, Max Prep stats listed shows him as a DE....I have changed the fb listing to show DE. Who knows...I would assume he played DE in HS...At NT ?

If you check Max Preps it shows him with 51 solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles for a total of 63. 18 sacks for 127 yds lost and 1 fumble recovery for 30 yds. NO I didn't clock his speed but TX FB shows 4.5

It would be nice to add Latu...NT has a standing offer to him...even after he injured his knee and required surgery in I believe the last game of last season...same for Louisville...don't know what the hang up is. NT committed Darius Carey...Dual QB from La HS 4,033 yds passing and 1520 yds running as Athlete..looking at him as a slot back and RB...could be switched to QB.
