  1. Why must you guys try so hard to find something bad in good news?!
  2. Its frustrating reading that article because why he was canned was so much more than he mentioned. This grossly underestimates the reasons why. He was never any good even during those bowl years save for one season when they went 9-3. Even that is up to speculation. Emmitt, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. DD has used that "we are a young team" comment every year I can remember. It grew old.
  3. An ugly win, but we will take it. The refs called EVERYTHING. and I don't necessarily have a problem with it as they called it evenly for both teams. We need to get better at hitting our free throws. Thank God Young hit both at the end.
  4. Dodge did get college experience. Was he not our OC in the early 90's?! Didn't he coach college elsewhere. This wouldn't be his first go 'round at the college ranks.
  5. I think Houston's head coach was the head coach of Stephenville back in there glory days. He then took a year to be the runningbacks coach of Texas Tech and from then went straight to accepting the HC job at Houston. I think he has done an outstanding job taking a bad Houston team and making them better. I really don't think that year made that much of a difference.
  6. it showed 17-10 UNT victory. I was watching for it all night long in Oklahoma since I couldn't be at the game.
  7. I don't really know why Southern Miss Fans are so worked up about this. If Butler was such a great coach, they should be happy he is staying. Period. Who cares what others say or think if he is so damn good. Fans need to freakin' grow some and get some thick skin.
  8. No the PA for the Mavs is Humble Billy Hayes. He doesn't do our games. I know Humble Billy personally... great guy.
  9. The team... yes. The coach... no! No sign in honor of DD from me.
  10. Try not to pat a players helmet in congratulations for making a personal foul
  11. It isn't just the past two seasons... it is that after nine seasons he really did very little worthwhile here. Nothing that was recognized all that much on the national scene. If you view everything in context like winning 4 championships in the crappiest league that really should be a D-1AA during those years and doing NOTHING outside of that to teams we should have/could have beaten, then you see what he really was. You want your job? how 'bout you win some games.
  12. YES! But we must make a huge sign thanking him for all he has done. Dickey you classy guy you!!
  13. I have no problem with Mac doing what he wants with his money. Niether do I mind him saying what he will do if things don't go his way. It is his money and his support. I would do the same if I were him. That is to say I would remain with my loyalties. His loyalty was with DD not with UNT. and that is fine. i admire him for doing what he did for a friend. I think the pros and cons of the situation still led to the letting go of DD and I think it was an overall wise decision. Already there was a buzz within an hour or two. I kept getting phone calls all day from alums and friends that were so happy we were going to go in a new direction. these were individuals that refused to go to the games this year because they were tired of UNT football over the last 3 years. It is nice to see a new interest in the program
  14. I can't believe you are actually making a sign.
  15. If we are going to keep naming kids to coach this team then we oughta just make a current player a head coach. why not?!Enough with this talk about recent college quarterbacks as HC of UNT.
  16. Thank you for raising the standard of UNT football. I know this is the beginning of the pressure the Athletic Department faces as all eyes are on you for who the new coach will be. Thank you for getting the first step done. We trust you to bring in a good one!
  17. Let me revise my earlier post. I wouldn't miss it for the world!
  18. Congratulations goes out to the newly elected Justice of the Peace in Precinct 1!!! you know who you are! make us proud!
  19. I will find something better to do. I think i may be washing my hair at that time... probably brushing my teeth. Who knows?
  20. If DD is back then I expect to not be at the games next season.
  21. For this lovely piece we should thank the wonderful coaching staff at the University of North Texas. http://dallasnews.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?ra_key=1618 This is only area mind you... Look at how great our recruiting front is going. Also, read the list that some of the players who haven't committed have. It is amazing seeing all the players' attention we are grabbing. I have so much hope in our future.
  22. Nope. Read it in todays paper. Meager to start against La. Tech Sophomore quarterback Daniel Meager will start for UNT in its game against Louisiana Tech on Saturday, head coach Darrell Dickey said Wednesday. Meager has started the Mean Green’s last two games, but was knocked out of Saturday’s loss to Troy with what was thought to be a concussion. UNT’s medical staff now believes the blurry vision Meager experienced during the game was not due to a concussion. The former Richardson Pearce standout has thrown for 288 yards in six games this season. BRETT VITO can be reached at 940-566-6870. His e-mail address is bvito@dentonrc.com .
  23. You mean Meager since Meager is starting this saturday. I don't care how you look at it... i have no confidence that we will win this game.
