What if Seth really was a good coach?
Travis replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Football
Nope. I said it when we let go of Dickey and I will say it with SL. Firing them both was a good call. Just because a hire after them might be bad, doesn’t make SL a good coach. -
Our AD made a MASSIVE mistake with this HC hire
Travis replied to Travis's topic in Mean Green Football
Apparently a decent starter who played at a division 1 school also doesn’t belong on the field for us either. -
This! Sometimes you just know. And with this one we just know how this year is going to go.

I immediately felt this when it was announced originally. It doesn’t work here. And I don’t know how our AD allowed it.

Nah. I am getting Benford vibes. Game 1 of his told us all we needed. This game says the exact same. this is a whole other level of bad. I am prepared for this to be an 07 or ‘15 type season.- 105 replies

It’s all in the title. This is going to be a very very bad era for North Texas football. I am all for the firing of SL. But we have taken big steps back with this HC and his Coordinators. We look so unprepared against a mediocre P5 team.

I was under the impression that having 5 backs was supposed to help us with coverage… or was I just smoking something? -

I hate that Richards has disappeared because they moved him. He was too good to move from the LB spot. -

I sure hope we see better out of the 3-3-5. I have never been convinced it is a good base. -
I’d love for them to point out reasons that cal has the advantage over us. I liked you pointing out that their QB woes might be even worse than ours. And if that is their hold up, not sure how it is even a point to be considered for this particular match up. Maybe a little more in depth analysis from them because their reasons seem to be nullified by the opponent, a 4-8 opponent, being in a worse off QB position. . I feel good about our chances with the Cal game and if we do lose it will be close. I do love what you do. I follow it regularly since this board and what you push is the main stuff I get from over here in Boise.

I heard the podcast with all of those that do podcasts and was disappointed in their predictions for who was going to win the Cal game. Not only because they were so negative towards unt. But because of the reasons they gave. Needed more analysis as to why they think unt will lose against Cal specifically other than Stone being number one and the HC saying the backup will get minutes. Like… that was their only reason for being negative. It seems that was enough to flip most of them. Which just seems odd to me. My two cents.

Looks like Mac and Tech are already ducking us
Travis replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
It’s going to suck then for Grant when he has to play us in the NCAA tournament. -
I am glad we are leaning to UNT. I hated that RV tried to get us away from that and to North Texas. It’s like we want to distance ourselves from the very university we represent.

I wonder what his brother is up to now as well.

Could the MWC still try to make a Play for UNT and UTSA
Travis replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Correct. Yeah I think the entire metro area of Boise comes in at like 800,000 I think with a total state population of less than 2 million. So BSU definitely has the attention of most eyeballs here. what little IU does get it likely pulled away from their neighbor. in the end if they could increase their facilities they would be in a P5 school. -

Middle of nowhere. Boise metro has like half the state’s whole population. So it is easy to support. Idaho has much better academics though. -

Boise seems to be a no brainer to me. But they aren't really considered at all. They have some strong programs but their facilities are quite behind. I would take our facilities over BSU any day. I think that is what holds them up more than anything else. They do have the entire state behind them in support. I would dream of the support they get for North Texas. But when you are the only show in town (state) you have the advantage.
