Buggs hasn’t been much help three games in.

That’s very true for year two. Year three was like year one. We were ‘in’ a lot of games but that’s worthless. But with year one and three he was only ‘two plays away’ from winning like 5-6 games. And that got old hearing crap like that. Hell, i even heard Mac say that once and I was like… oh man that’s always a mark of a bad team.

While I get your point… i do. Everytime i have heard this kind of line we have had a really bad team. I have heard EM say as much and it reminds me of dodge saying something similar.

Well they did win ten games just last year and were Mountain West Runners up. They have also picked up a pair of their highest rated recruits in history for this upcoming signing period. I wouldn’t say they are out of gas just yet.

I have been here for just over ten years. The attitude and expectation of a winning culture came before Peterson. It was in the late 90’s with Koetter and Hawkins. But what is certain is they lose their minds easily when they don’t win and will run a coach out. It is very interesting to me… because outside of a good solid local support with fan engagement (which we could only dream of)…. I can’t get past how bad their facilities are.

I’d chalk their success up to smart AD’s scheduling pansies to create a winning culture. But they have always had a low tolerance of losing.

Boise doesn’t have that much money. 🤷🏻‍♂️ and their facilities are crap compared to ours. what they do have is a rabid fan base that doesn’t accept mediocrity and they have had that for the last two decades.

And this is why we are mediocre.

I had to look them up. I have never heard of that school before.

They give more and expect more.

I live in Boise. They are my number two team to follow after the mean green. This community here acts very differently than the North Texas community. And so does their Athletic Department. UNT is always number one to me, no doubt. But they just have a different expectation here of what is considered success… Even if it might not be reasonable. But they get better results than we do because of it I think.

BSU fans lose their minds when their teaM loses 4 games or more. I mean loses it. And their AD is receptive to the fans. And so do the players honestly. A lot of them will start seeking moves elsewhere. I don’t think it is any surprise that this comes off of a week after their best WR announced he is hitting the portal.

Probably right. But many fans here were divided on him. So I am not sure. Harsin is the biggest meathead ever. lol.

Andy Avalos (one of their own) got fired today following a 41-14 win from last night. They are 5-5 on the year and he holds a 22-14 record going into his third year. Last year he went 10-4. Worst full year was first where he went 7-5. This is something UNT would NEVER do. We would extend a lifetime tenured contract with those results. But I love that BSU has that little thing called standards. Now this… I very much agree with. SL was incredibly frustrating and I was more than ready to see him go after how many programs passed us by and we were just stagnant under him… he needed to be let go. And A year or two too late if you ask me. EM and his staffing selection and poor recruiting and team building (yes more is on you immediately with the portal) has truly made us worse. id love for us to start completely over but we don’t have the money for that. At best, we gotta find a new DC to show some face to the players and fans. He won’t do it though. And we are going to be stuck backsliding to further mediocrity under this arrangement.

EM biggest recruiting efforts needs to be to retain the better players he already has. He didn’t do well at all retaining the better players of SL’s team when he came in. Its going to be a challenge given the shit sandwich he made of it. the D might like Caponi -I don’t really know - but if I were a player outside looking in, I don’t think I’d wanna play for the guy. my prediction is we are going to lose a lot more players than just to graduation.

What was insanity was basically hiring the exact same coach as SL in CM and expecting it to somehow be better.
